is there a specific time frame in ohio before the vehicle can be sold, and does the letter need to be certified?

i thought they had to let me know where my personal items would be located and when and where the sale would be

it's theirs not yours. they don't have to tell you anything.

They "have" to send you a notice of intent to repo, a notice of intent to sell and after they sell it they "have" to send you a deficiency notice. If they do not send all of the required notices within the time allowed, it would be considered an illegal repo and the deficiency would be uncollectable.

You need to look through your state statutes for the time limits.

Also, they "have" to allow you to recover your personal property.

They wont send you a letter reguarding sale, but they will send you a bill for the money that you owe on the car. Even if your car goes to auction you still owe the money.
