Last Friday i had an interview with Home Depot. I was interviewed for the cash office/bookkeeping associate job. Everything went really well, they job was explained to be the woman told me they were really looking to get people for that job. So, she sent me out for a drug test that same day. She explained that they normally do two interviews so she called the woman who would interview me next. We then discussed pay and she told me the other lady would contact me over the weekend to talk to me about what i would be making. So, i left to take my drug test, she sent out for my background check and things were looking good. Now it has been 9 days later and i have not received any calls. I tried to call the woman who interviewed me earlier this week but she is on vacation for the week. I then asked for the woman who was supposed to call me to discuss pay with me shes was not in. She goes on vacation this week. Has anything like this happened to anyone

ok so i got this job at a factory that is being built and since its under construction still they hired people to patrol the area. so basically from 7 in the morning to 3 p.m. i drive around the construction site and make sure no one is there that isnt supposed to be there. ok so heres the issue the job is soooooo easy but its just very boring. i'm not complaining b/c its very good money however are there any ideas that anyone could give me that i could do while im at work. im in my car about 7 out of the 8 hours and i listen to music or text people but i cant think of anything else to do. so any ideas on what i could do in a car thats mostly moving, but i drive around the site very slow and i park and sit a lot. so please any suggestions will help!

Hi, I had an interview at Sears, along with a drug test, last Tuesday ... It is now Sunday. Does Sears usually take this long?. Im worried they hired someone else over me, would they at least call to let me know? The lady who did the drug test said it will take at least three days or is it possible that the lab they sent the results to is closed on weekends, and that is perhaps further adding to the delay?

Any input is appreciated, thank you.

I will be moving after college and would like to move out of state. The thing is, I would have to have a job first before I do any moving. If I want a job, in lets say, Tennessee, would I have to drive all the way down there for the interview (which is about nine hour drive), or do they do some kind of special over the phone interview? How does the process work for out of state job applying?

So, I have recently transferred schools and I love the new city that I am in and the college itself. My problem is that I don't want to work in a lab all day. I find my major (Conservation Biology) interesting but I'm not sure what I want to do with it. The more people ask the more i realize that the only thing I KNOW I want to do is join the Peace Corps.
I was WOOFing (volunteering on an organic farm) this summer and I realized that I love the environment but I want to do something where I can connect with people and live sustainably. So now I'm considering becoming a midwife and transferring to a nursing program. The nursing school is only blocks away from my current college so I won't have to give up my apartment.
Should I just wait 2 yrs and finish up my bachelors or should I try and transfer again and just spend the extra year getting a nursing degree?

It doesn't seem right and too personal of information. Why should they know if I have loans, and how much? Doesn't allowing others to view my credit, open me up to possible credit fraud? They say employers can not ask for your age, or if you're married or not. But, this information can be confirmed through a credit check!! Once I denied access to my credit history, & the perspective employer informed me that I would no longer be considered a candidate for a position w/their company. That is NOT right !!

I've never been a manager before and I'm really nervous I won't be a good one. What's the one best piece of advice you can give to a newbie manager before she starts her new career?

This can be answered by people who have been managers or by people who have worked under managers.
