and I am so damn happy. First time an employer as hired ME, ME to work for them. And its not a low company that as crap pay, its really good with good pay. So IDK where the question is in this, but just wanted people to know that people who are still seeking for their first job and can't seem to find one, well GOOD NEWS people, its NOT possible to get a job, because I've proved it. After months of many many online and paper applications I done it, I can PROUDLY SAY, "I NOW CONTRIBUTE TO SOCIETY AND ITS A DAMN GOOD FEELING."

I applied for a supervisory position at a manufacturing company. At my previous two employers I worked my self into managerial and supervisory positions and now have 8 years of supervisory experience. I recently earned my Associate of Applied Science degree in Business and Supervisory Management.

Today i was notified that I have been chosen as a finalist for the postion with two internal candidates, and we will be interviewing with a panel of supervisors and leads at the company. I have the supervisory experience and the degree that the position discription prefers, but lack the knowledge of the companies industry.

How do I highlight my advantages to a group of employees that I hope will soon be my peers? Who are most likely a mixture of employees promoted without supervisory experience and education, and those hired externally.

The panel will certainly be familiar with the internal candidates. How do I get them comfortable with me quickly?

I've worked for for 4 fast food restaurants, 3 of which are currently out of business in my town. I also worked at a gas station for a month and a factory for 2 days. I have made the decision to pursue clerical/office work and sat down to type my resume, realizing that the gaps in my job history may be detrimental to my chances of being hired in a professional setting. This is my work experience:

Factory job: 6/21/07-6/22/07
Gas station: 10/06-11/06
Restaurant: 6/06-8/06
Pizza shop: 10/05-3/06
Restaurant: 6/05-8/05

There was also another restaurant I worked at in 2004 but I don't remember the exact dates of employment.

My friend who owns a small web design firm offered to lie for me and say that I worked as his secretary for a year but I don't know if it would be a good idea to lie on my resume. If I do include previous odd jobs on my resume, how should I set it up? Keep in mind that I don't know the exact dates of the last place I worked.

these are just the little jobs that I had during and before college over the summers. (they're not formatted on here because it kept getting thrown on different lines) My question tho is this part:
Crystal Springs Resort: Seasonal Maintenance Summers 2000 - 2002
is this ok to leave as summers 2000 - 2002? or should I break it out as (putting summers just reads as unprofessional to me... not sure if it is tho)

" " May 2002 - August 2002
'' '' May 2001 - August 2001
" " May 2000 - August 2000
it just seems a little redundant to me to have the same thing for 3 lines but I can't put just May 2000 - August 2002 since I didn't work in the winter while at school can I?

Crystal Springs Resort: Seasonal Maintenance June 2005 – December 2005
Case Construction: Carpenter May 2003 – August 2003
Crystal Springs Resort: Seasonal Maintenance Summers 2000 - 2002
New Jersey Rock Gym: Instructor April 1996 - August 1999

I was supposed to enter a report and explain the results of this months work to my boss. I did so a week before the end of the month. Now the report has been sent out to all the managers and VP'S all around the world and the slot where my number is entered is zero.

I had informed my boss that I had already got a 1 for this month. Now my CEO is in town and he does think highly of me. Do I email him and tell him of this situation or let them make their own assumptions? I know my boss has done this on purpose. He knows this report can make me look stupid. Tell me what can I do...

Last week my boss was out on vacation, and our labor relations guy discovered something that made him go ballistic. Part of my job is to forward along personnel actions, but I received an approval report that was labeled incorrectly. I forwarded it along for signature with the item that corresponded to the label, which resulted in the wrong thing getting approved, which means a bunch of prison wardens will get an early pay raise. He's holding me responsible because I'm the one who routes these things, but I think the person who incorrectly labeled the write-up and everyone who signed off on it after that are at least equally responsible. They're throwing me under the bus because I'm still in my probationary period and I think they want to wash me out anyways. Well, I have to inform my boss about it when she comes back today... I don't want to take the full blame because I don't deserve it but I don't want to appear like I'm fingerpointing either. How should I go about this?

I got the bechalor degree in economics and doing my master degree in business administration right now. Unfortunately, I have never formally worked. And do not have much working experience. I cant see my future. I know the first job is very important to my career. Currently a lot of job required the applicant should have at least two years or more working experience. I am blindly sending the resume but seldom give me any feedback. I got much disappointed. Actually, I dont know what should one who have few working experience can be put in the resume esp in the achievement column. I guess the HR will throw such kind of resume directly to the bin without hesitation. Sometimes I just thoguht probably so many years study is only a kind of waste. What should I target? what should I do?

Is there any idea beside sales, lawn mower, MLM, or anything that doesn't pay check but will pay the same day you work?

I know I can't make $100 an hour but $100 a day shouldn't be that bad either.

My first job, my commute was 3 minutes away. i hated it...lasted a year

My next job was 20 minutes away...i liked it the first year but hated it more and more as the 2nd year went on...and it drove me to drink a LOT

my new job is 70 to 120 minutes away. i really like it and its exactly what im looking for. The commute is really rough...and im worried that it will get to me. I have looked for closer jobs and there just isn't anything. I still have the chance to go back to my last job...but I don't think the last job really is the best thing for me mentally and physically.

Moving is out of the question...I just bought a house a few months ago..

Should I go back to my old job and wait to find something closer...or stick it out...I would want to stay at this job for several years...since I bounced around so quickly with my first two jobs...
