I would start looking into other jobs. If you've been at this company for 11 years, then you have some kind of experience. All you have to do is look. If you find something, then just tell your boss the truth. But otherwise, when you leave work and are on your way home, turn up the radio realllllly loud and sing with it as loud as you can and I know it'll help you relax before you get home. Well...it does for me. Good Luck.

I have been at my job for about 1.5years. I stay because my hours are always 48hours per week and I am trying to be an actuary. My biweekly paychecks are $769.65, but studying is the most important thing in the world to me. I usually come up $150 to $200 above my head with my paycheck. I can study at my workplace and that is more beneficial to me than working as a database administrator for 40 to 60hours per week with no study time included in my work schedule. In other words, I will have a better job within the next 1.5years or so. I do not like my current job, but I will not work a job that does help me get my dream job.

I would start looking for a job you enjoy. 11 years is more than long enough. That shows some stability. Make a list of what would the ideal working conditions. What are the things you dislike about the line of work? Are you hating the job because of the way it is mismanaged or micromanaged? Or do you hate the occupation? Those are some things to consider.

Find another job before you quit. With the way the economy is now, I would not leave a job it you already have one. There are corporations/businesses laying people off. Try to get into the county/government system where you can get retirement benefits. I have been working or 40 some years...always a problem wherever you go. If not this, it could be another.
Good Luck!!

Start looking for another job. If you can try to take some classes that would enhance your resume. If you have little chance of making the same or more money at a different job just stay where you are and deal with it unless you wish to raise enough money to start a business of some sort. Poverty sucks so keep that in mind.

Start seriously looking for another job. Update your resume and try Monster.com. I did this once and I got a lot of calls. You might find what you are looking for. It will help if you are willing to relocate though.
One thing you should not do: Don't quit until you are literally going straight to the next job. You don't want a single day without income if you can avoid it.

Maybe if you talk with your supervisor and tell him you need much more to do. You love busy and multitasking. If your boss doesn't work on a solution look around for another job. Just remember that life is to short, do what you love and the money will follow and so will happiness...maybe what you went to school for isn't what you love afterall...

Look for another job - or is that too obvious?
If you don't find one that's at least as good as the one you have, remember that when you have a job, you're selling your talents for a certain number of hours a day, for a certain number of dollars - and you're working so that you have money to live the part of your life that is OUTSIDE of work.
