There are also times when the value of using charts is questionable. For example, if the underlying drops 20% in a day, say from $25 per share to $20 per share, and there is only one trade for a particular option on the underlying that day, it could make a big difference in the price if the option was trading $25 or $20.

I got my job in June and on my papers I know I signed to pay more taxes than necessary. I was also told that students get about 90% back. At what point or how much will I get back (percent wise) my tax refund; if at all.
Thanks!

I am looking to terminate the lease I have with my apartment.

The lease says, "Resident may terminate the obligations under this Lease by delivering to the Manager a written notice stating Resident's intent to terminate this Lease. Such notice will be effective thirty (30) calendar days from the date it is given."

Does this mean if I give notice on Dec 30th, I can't leave 'til Jan 30th, or does it mean that I have to be out by Jan 30th but I can be gone any day prior? The first interpretation doesn't really make any sense, but please advise!

So me and my fiance are looking into this. It looks like this company asks you to pay $200 for a listing of houses. All the houses they have are almost in foreclosure, and what you do is take over payments for about 6 months, in the other person's name, and after 6 months you can re-finance and put it into your name.

Is this a scam? If it is, how?

I guess you just find the house, and make the first payment. They said there is no credit check because you aren't asking for a loan. You are just taking over payments.

I asked what about when you go to re-finance will they run a credit check and is there any chance they can decline you and after those 6 months of living there is there any way you can loose the house? They said no, and your credit doesn't matter because the payments you make for those 6 months pretty much show how you make your payments on time and everything.

They also said the title and deed gets put in your name right away.

Can anyone help me with this???

Thx!!

Arrrrggggh. I now have electric heat. My bill went up $180 since I turned the heat on. I just turned the heat off and bought a portable heater to try to save money. I never thought I would have to do that, but the amount they want is obsurd. People in my neighborhood say the bill runs the same for them, so they just turn the heat off. I am a college student, and $240 is a lot to cough up for electric. I don't have drafty windows or anything. Will the portable heater save on my electricity, or am I fighting a loosing battle here? Any suggestions? Man, utility companies are the most professional and legal crooks I have ever seen!

We received the letter today that it was cancelled as of Nov 1st (they hadn't paid Nov or Dec). He hasn't asked them about it yet so we're looking into our options.PLUS I thought I heard we only had 60 days if preexisting conditions. Are THEY still liable since they offer medical insurance?

I pay my nanny every two weeks. Her next pay period will be the last week of December and the first week of January. Am I supposed to split that pay period in half and include the December half in this year's taxes? Or, even though she worked the hours in 2007, does the fact that she does not get paid for those hours until 2008 mean that the whole pay period belongs with that year's taxes?

not only is she harassing me, and stressing me out over this, but 2 weeks prior to my place getting robbed, i asked the landlord to fix the locks, there is only one lock and no deadbolt. she says i have until friday(28th) to get out, or she'll have my property removed. she wont except rent, but yet she is pro rating this last week and a half, and taking it off of my security deposit. she threatens that everyone who comes by here, she'll call the police for trespassing.i live in florida. even after the robbery, she refused to put new locks on the door. no where on the lease does it say that i cannot have friends. when i showed her the lease, she tried to keep it. i did however get it back.

when you realize your stock is losing money repeatedly and want to sell it, does the leftover money get paid back from the company that you invested in? or does it come from somewhere else? are you guaranteed to be able to get whatever is leftover returned back to you?

i've never invested in stocks before but i am interested in reading and learning about how everything works, and may possibly want to invest through a company such as Charles Schwab or Fidelity.

any other advice you have would be much appreciated, such as where to begin, etc.
