maybe you should call your bank and straighten it out that way

Yes, they will find out when they open the deposit envelope and reverse the credit to your account. They will probably also charge you a fee for doing it.

We deposited a check one time in an ATM and accidently wrote the wrong amount on the envelope and entered the same amount on the machine. Our credit union charged us $10 to correct the mistake when they discovered it.

Yeah the bank will find out believe me then they will take the money out of your account. They once gave me $50 to much for a check. I noticed it about 2 days latter and so I thought well I'll just see if they catch it. Well about a week latter I got a statement in the mail saying they gave me to much and had deducted the amount from my checking account. Thank goodness I had enough in there so I didn't get hit with an overdraft fee. So yeah believe me they will find out!

Yes they will and if they think you did it on purpose you could be criminally prosecuted.

But really they can just revoke your bank card priveledges.

Or they will think it was an error, charge you a big fee and keep an eye out for other shady account activity in the future.

Don't you even care that you are committing a crime?

Yes they will eventually notice. Take the check to the bank and straighten it out.

As I understand it, all ATM transactions are filmed as they are opened and credited to your account. Who knows?
