I got my job in June and on my papers I know I signed to pay more taxes than necessary. I was also told that students get about 90% back. At what point or how much will I get back (percent wise) my tax refund; if at all.
Thanks!

Depending on when you file......and where and how much you work...the sooner you'll get the money.

I would say file your taxes as soon as possible. If you do that you beat the rush of procratinators that wait until April 15th...the due date...This enables the IRS to get the funds to you faster because not as many people have filed yet. When I was 16...I got about $250 back...I worked part-time at taco bell. Depending on where you work and how much you make...that's how much you'll get back.

I would say go through your check stubs and everything up from the whole year...excluding fica and social security...you don't get those back.

From that you can estimate what your refund will be....as for 90% I'm not sure if that right...but it could be close!

If you make less than $5350, you'll get everything back that was deducted for federal income tax. If you made more than that, you'll have some tax liability so might or might not get anything back depending on how much was deducted. What you get back is just a refund of whatever you overpaid, it's not some kind of government reward for working.

You won't get back the amount deducted for social security and medicare. Depending on where you live, you might or might not get back some or all of what was deducted for your state.

You get your refund from 2 to 8 weeks after you file your return, depending on whether you file electronically or on paper, and whether you have your refund deposited to your bank account or have them send you a check.

About 90% of what you paid in. Look at your W-2.
