With this AMT patch thing the IRS is working on, would it be wise to go out and get our taxes done early?

Why would you?

If you are affected by the AMT without the patch, then your return might not be processed until the programming is completed to handle it correctly. If it's processed, you might have to amend it, or they might just handle the changes automatically. If you run out and file early, you could end up having to pay when you file (as you would have without the patch that congress finally got around to passing), then get the extra refunded later.

If you aren't affected anyway, it won't matter.

Watch the news. The AMT patch may delay the start of processing to February or March. (In which case there is no option to go do it early.)

If you know your getting a refund, its best to do your taxes by the end of January or the IRS gets extremely busy and it takes longer to receive it. IF you owe taxes or expect to, I would wait until the deadline April 15th.

Dear Miss
I would start putting down and adding up a list of things that you would like to clam this year because tax season is just around the Conner and catch you by surprise OK and you do not want that to happen OK
