I have an offer from a company to work with them as a 1099 Independent Contractor. However they are telling me what they'll pay me ($500/wk) and determinining the deliverables. As a contractor, do I legally have a say in both the pay and what will be done?

Also, it is a small start-up company, and they are paying all of their "employees" as contractors to save the company money. Is this shady?

I've always been a W2 employee, so any advice/input would be greatly appreciated!

I have heard you can make xtra income completing surveys on the internet. I tried some, but all they do is enter you in a drawing to win money. I need to make the money.
I found one webstie, www.paidsurveyprogram.com and they actually pay you. To join it cost $39.95. I really am in need of this xtra income ASAP, but I don't want to waste my time or my money. Does anyone know of this website or is anyone a member and do you actually make money. Please Help!
Also does anyone know of a honest way to make xtra income from home part-time, I already have something full-time, I just need part-time and flexible. Thanks!

I've been looking for a job since May. I've had several interviews but the bottom line is that I have no relevant field experience. I am a victim of the catch 22. How am I supposed to get experience without a job and vice versa. I tried to get internships while in school but some needed too high a GPA. I had 3.0 they needed 3.5, etc..

I am stressed beyond measure. Can someone please give me advice.

P.S. IT major, Network Security Concentration. 3.36 cumulative GPA.

I've been trying to get a car loan but i keep getting denied. My credit score is 720 no blemishes. The problem is i have only one year of history and 1 month of loan history. Not enough to get a loan. So I still need a cosigner. But the only person who can cosign for me is my mom who has a credit score of 560. Shes is a homeowner. The only reason her score is low is because of my student loans and a some late payments. No bankruptcys or collections or anything like that. Would it be worth a try to apply for a loan with her as my cosigner, or would they deny it because she is already overextended?

Ok here is the situation i for 2004 i have to remove my self from someone as a dependent and file myself alone for 2004. for 2003 i did my taxes and i did not include a dependent i was suppossed to like i did for my w-2's in the paycheck stubs with work. i filed single and i need to include the dependent i had for work in 2003. for 2002 is the same as 2003 i need to do them again with a dependent for that year. i received a letter from the irs that i would have to do this correctly or face penalties. but if you think about it i will be paying alot in the tax agencys to do them again for each one of them. and so i was wondering is someone could help me on what i need to do, what forms do i need, and what i put on the forms, and how do i calculate the right amount. also if there is anyone thats a tax agent would be able to help me then he would get my bissness if he could give me a deal on what i have mentioned above on what i need to do so please do contact me if you are a tax agent.

I knew something was up last night at 10PM when I got a call from the automated system that GoDaddy uses to verify charges. Then today I had a call from Paypal's automated system asking me to verify new charges on my Paypal Mastercard debit card. I logged in and sure enough, a slew of charges that I hadn't made. They were small charges, obviously someone generating commissions for themselves. They're the kind of charges that police won't bother with because they're so small.

Now here's the kicker - I have never used the card. They just mailed it to me last week because my old one was expiring. I activated it and stuck it in a drawer. I haven't shopped, online or offline. That means the information was stolen from within Paypal. Has there been any suspicious activity on your Paypal debit card? If so, go to "my account" and "profile" and report it lost or stolen ASAP.

I'm planning to save my salary proceeds in an interest-earning savings account but i'm worried the gov't will still get a chunk of it eventhough they already removed taxes from the salary. What about the interest? Is it taxable? How much? Thanks for your answer.

I just received a letter from the IRS claiming that I owe over $10,000 for failing to file a tax return from the year 2000. I know, I know...unbelievably dumb. I agree. Suffice it say, I went through trying time personally and wasn't exactly sure I was going to be around in another year or two for it to make a difference.

I've picked up the pieces of my life. I'm still very much struggling financially but at least want to stay in the game and get back on track. I don't know, though, that I can pay this fine with my limited financial resources (actually, it's absolutely 100% impossible). Can I plead for an installment plan? Can I get the interest removed? I know I don't deserve pity as I didn't act in good faith at the time, but I absolutely cannot just fork out 10 grand to put this to bed.
