I am in need of help creating a product line extension, where the product is the band. Some possabilities are merchandise, concerts for charities, and have other artist play with the band. This is for my marketing class, any suggestions or a push in the right direction from anyone in the marketing and/or music industry will help.

Well, of course there are the usual t-shirts, baseball caps, calendars, posters, etc.

Consider having the band give out tickets thru a radio station with a contest attached. How about having 1 pair of tickets given every day to those who answer the contest question on air correctly, say for a period of about 2 or 3 weeks leading up to the date of the concert. On the very last day of the concert, the name of everyone who won tickets could be placed in a container and one person chosen at random would win transportation to the concert in a limo with backstage passes to meet the band members, official t-shirts signed by the band members, etc.

Not only will this work, but a radio station will be more than happy to get involved in this....

Life is not the point of veganism and ethical vegetarianism. Sentience is. Kefir is not sentient. The fact that bacteria used in the production if sauerkraut are alive does not matter. The CABBAGE itself was already alive. Harvested and chopped up alive. human beings are heterotrophs, which means we can only survive by eating other organisms. Organisms are by definition LIFE forms. Edit: Being sentient requires certain equipment. Most notably a nervous system. Animals have it, plants, fungi and bacteria don't. The is SOME grey area, but that is with animals that may not be sentient (for instance oysters, who have a nervous system but no brain to interpret the signals of nerves) not with plants etc. that may be sentient.

Jackets are too expensive usually. Most bands go with CD's, baseball hats with their logo (if they have one), T-shirts printed locally, bumper stickers (though that's dying out), window decals, posters, anything that they think their niche market would be interested in.
