But Equifax is not deleting the same negative items off of my credit report ( and they shouldn't be there ).... I have yet to hear from Experian.... What more can I do to get Equifax to take these things off? Dispute again?

Send a certified, return receipt letter to the creditor. Request validation of the debt, including any contracts or other proof that this is your debt.

If the creditor does not respond within 30 days, send another letter to the credit bureau with a copy of your letter to the creditor. Tell them that the creditor failed to respond and insist the item be removed.

The credit reporting companies report only the information they receive and cannot change it themselves. They are just a repository of the info.

Negative stuff stays there unless the entity that posted it removes it. The only thing you can do is add an explanation as to why it is wrong or the circumstances that caused it to exist.

If it is totally wrong and the entity that put it there refuses to remove it, you have a cause of action against that entity for defamation and damage to credit.

You need hard evidence that the items aren't yours. Also, if you can get the creditor who put those items there to give you a letter stating that they don't belong there, then you're in a much better position with the credit bureaus.

send them a copy of the report the way you want it to read, then if they don't change it sue them.
