I don't quite get your question - as in "before I fax".

But, can you get internet access to your account? If so you can print statements on the spot.

Otherwise most banks here (Australia) will print you either an interim statement for free (which holds no legal weight) or for about $7-$10 will print you an official statement on the spot if you need one for some legal or credit purpose.

What do you need the statement for? If you are trying to fax it somewhere, I suspect this has something to due with a loan application of some sort. Most lender ask for the 2 or 3 most recent statements. They know you won't have one showing today's balance. If you need a statement to date, contact your bank.
