It's been 6 years since I've checked out the open job market and have had 3 jobs over the past 11 years.

It seems as the years go by, the resume submitting process has become more and more casual. When I first started applying for jobs, it would be a typed cover letter and resume that was sent via mail. Now a day, people submit resumes online, though various job sites, etc.

My question is, how big of a factor does a cover letter play in this day and age? It seems like everyone wants things to be straight and to the point and don't want to be bogged down with extra information/data to go though. However, in the past I know a cover letter could be used as an extra tool to sell yourself.

Is the cover letter still an important tool to use? As you build up more and more experience over the years, is it necessary to have?

He works very hard and my daughter in law works part-time but I know they find it difficult to keep up with rising prices e.g having to buy three school uniforms - I'm not sure what to do as I have another two grown-up children.

When you send out your resume, and potential employers write back and the only thing they say is to supply your salary history and requirements...how do you answer that? I think it's kind of rude.
I know once you tell them you are either going to low ball yourself of they may remove you right away because you asked for too much.
Is it okay to tell them that your requirements are flexible/negotiable and you'd be glad to discuss it at an appropriate time? like in an interview?
Please help! :)

Whether inheritance or lottery, how do you know who to trust with your money? In small towns people will talk. To remain annonymous, who do you trust to handle your money properly? Yes, this is hypothetical, but probable too. A regular bank would not work, a local lawyer seems to 'local'. Its scary when you know people will want to take advantage of your good fortune. For this future philanthropist, I need advise!

I have never sold anything on eBay before.
I have 100% positive feedback as a buyer(never had a neutral or negative comment) I am PayPal verified with a confirmed address.

How much will it cost me total, using eBay and PayPal to sell my "like new" $200 digital camera on ebay? Is it more or less expensive to use buy it now? Should I use a reserve? Does eBay send you boxes to ship the stuff from your house to your buyer?

I am a poor college student and I think I have like maybe $50.00 in my bank account at the moment, so I really need to sell this camera with as little cost to myself as possible, while still recovering the cost of buying it.

My 7.1MP Nikon Coolpix 7600 point and shoot digital camera has only been used maybe 5 or 10 times, still works great, and still has original packaging, photo CD, and instruction booklet, along with computer cables. Box still looks brand new, as do the photo CD(never used) and instruction booklet. I bought it new towards the end of 2006

My husband and I have wroked hard in the past year to clear up his bad credit. We managed to pay off 10 of his delinquent credit items, and only one remains. We have a couple of high interest credit cards that are current that we would like to pay off and also, I lost my job about 3 months ago, and we got behind on rent. I am working again, but we would like to be able to catch up on rent and pay off some other bills. We also need a second car. To get to the point, we would like to borrow $10000 to get caught up on rent, pay off the credit cards, pay off a personal loan of $1700 to our bank, and buy a second car. Does anyone know of any lenders that will lend to a person with bad credit? Any suggestions would be helpful. And please don't preach, we were young when we got ourselves in trouble and have learned our lesson. We are just trying to give our two children a home and a great life. Thank you for and suggestions.
