When you send out your resume, and potential employers write back and the only thing they say is to supply your salary history and requirements...how do you answer that? I think it's kind of rude.
I know once you tell them you are either going to low ball yourself of they may remove you right away because you asked for too much.
Is it okay to tell them that your requirements are flexible/negotiable and you'd be glad to discuss it at an appropriate time? like in an interview?
Please help! :)

DO NOT GIVE THEM A NUMBER. They will lowball you. And unfortunately, in corporate america, you are only worth what you were paid last. If they see a number that they think is too high for your worth they will immediately overlook you. If they see a number that they think is too low for your worth, they will wonder what issues you have as a worker that they didn't notice. Just tell them that when you reach that point, you'll be glad to discuss it with them and that you are flexible.

When they have 100 applications for every job, just count yourself lucky they bothered to reply at all ....

.. and others have said, if they need to know you existing Salary they are plainly looking to pre-select candidates on that basis ..

NB. Please understand it from an employers point of view = I once interviewed an applicant for a IT Managers role that was advertised as "25-35k" .. the applicants CV was first class and he interviewed extremely well .. at the end of the Interview we got to the point of offering him the job at the top end of the salary scale .. .. at which point he announced he was earning £40k and that since we were 'a major international company' we should be paying 'a lot more for this type of post' .. and he wanted 'at least' 50k ... needless to say we showed him the door ... if we knew that 'up front' we would not have wasted his time

I'd agree with the current strategy + negotiable viewpoint. The key thing is not to rule yourself out at an early stage, but be prepared to be tougher after interview when they realise they can't live without you!

I never bother with a company that asks for salary requirements.

It means that they are adversarial and won't be a good place to work for. Worse still, many of these are not real jobs but companies trying to find out what a salary range they can offer will be.

Let them do their own research and don't be a patsy for them.

absolutely, i suggest you say your actual last salar and then next to it right, negotiable etc.
