You have job offer contigent of verification of education, background etc. Your final degree education is from another country from 18 years ago.
The only verification left is education and it could take time because things in that country work kinda slow.

The new employer needs you to start at a particular date and for that to happen you have to give in 2 weeks notice before education verification is finalized and before u get an final ok confirmation from new employer.

Would you give the 2 weeks notice and take risk that all would go ok? Or you wudnt want to risk in case things go wrong.

There is no issue with the education except for the verification process.

I will be graduating college in December, my career is already set. I would like to buy my first new car and I also have an interest-free home loan from the military I would like to use. I need to build my credit score, how did you build yours or how do you help others build theirs.

I moved jobs for the first time and found out that I could rollover my old 401k into a rollover IRA and can now invest in stocks. Should I be aggressive in my investments? On the one hand, I am 30+ years from retirement and I don't have to pay capital gains, so I can buy and sell at will. On the other hand, this is my retirement money (although only a small amount of my retirement money since I'm still contributing to my current job's 401k).

What are best practices with rollover IRA accounts?

I have a second interview tomorrow with the VP of the HR department and was wondering what type of questions will be asked.

My first interview went well, and it was with the Human Resources Director. This is an entry level HR position, and I will be working directly with her.

What type of questions migh the VP ask? she mentioned during the first interview that he is her boss.

Thanks!!

Ok I live in texas and have a question. My grandma is a widow and owns 5 acres and a house. I had wanted to buy one acre from her but was told by a lawyer that I could'nt because if they do they will stop her medicare or medicaid because she has money then. They say there is no way for me to buy it, is this true and also it is only like 2000 dollars that she wants for it? Does anybody have any idea of what I could do or do you know how excactly this works?

This is warning.... about 3 years ago I helped my daughter out by purchasing a subscription through her school to readers digest... approx. a year ago I asked them numerous times to cancel the subscription and not send any more.. they continued to send books.. I sent them back along with additional requests to cancel subscrition. Then we moved and the books stopped showing up even though we had our mail forwarded to our new address so I asumed the subscription was cancelled and no more monies were owed.....I just recently recieved a call from a collection agency regarding monies owed to Readers digest. I called readers digest to inquire and was told that I had to paythe bill. Please take this as a warning to not subscribe to them because the will RIP YOU OFF!!!!! they are the worst company I have ever had the displeasure to deal with

my mom gets retirement for around $610 a month. For 2 years we didn't even know that we had to file the retirement on her taxes. Now because of this, my mom has gotten charged $1300 for not paying it, then maybe a few months or more later she has gotten charged $1400. Is this suppose to be interest and penalties.

Also the $1300 came from one state and the $1400 came from another state.

My questions are, why are the payments so high and why are they coming from 2 different states.

Also what are the tax payments on the retirement suppose to be.

If you can't answer the questions, is there a way i can email the IRS about this. My mom tried calling them but she said she wasn't going to wait 30minutes or more for them to finally pick up and answer.

I stopped at my apartment for lunch. As I was walking to my door, my landlord (who lives in the same building) called me over to let me know he was going to replace the air filter in my apartment later that afternoon. Normally, my apartment is fine, but I had my kids over and they completely trashed the place. Panicked, I told my work I would be few hours longer and frantically straightened up everything.

If I had been given adequate notice, I would not have to have missed some work.

This is the first time this has happen. Already had her come in once when I wasn't home because I left a window open and she was afraid the rain might come in the apartment (which there is no way it would have (The upper half was open and it wasn't raining that hard.)

I just think she looks for excuses to be nosey.

I would move but the rent is really good for the area I live in. I miss living in a complex. They are really good about following rules and regulations.

I accepted a job thru a staffing firm and I was to start last Friday. The job was for an accounting position. The whole day I was stuck answering the phones and had nothing to do. My boss decides to hire and then leaves to go on vacation for 2 weeks. I wasn't sure why I was hired if she was going to leave. I think it was the staffing company wanting to take me out of the job market so I wouldn't look for another job. She indicated in our interview that she wanted to rearrange the office and totally train my position. I was ok, but I had no idea she was leaving for two weeks.
So of course I go in to day and ask can I assist anyone and all said no, and basically I was stuck answering the phone again. I made up an excuse and left early because I REFUSED to sit there and look at the wall.
They called the staffing firm and basically said they did not want me back.
I don't get these staffing companies? Why do they do this crap? Wasted my time.

I am a stay-at-home parent. I started a freelance business and expect to earn a total of $7000 by the end of the year. I file jointly with my husband every year. He is paying enough through withholding to cover my tax expenses. So, do I have to pay estimated taxes on what I earn? Or since I file jointly with my husband are my taxes already covered?
