My bank offered to increase the overdraft on my current account by £400 to £1400 so I could pay off some bills and a couple of depts. They told me I could have anything up to £2100, but I settled at £1400 as I didn't need more than that. They told me this would be available to use within a couple of days. I immediately went out and paid the bills etc, leaving about £50 spare in the account, thinking this would soon be £450. I noticed a week later that the overdraft hadn't changed and I couldn't withdraw any more money. When I phoned the bank, they told me my limit was actually £1000, and couldn't be increased. I am now screwed, as I have no money until the end of the month. Can I do anything about this? What are my legal rights in this situation?

On the Last Will & Testament of my 3xgreat-grandfather dated 1808 he had,along with land and property,£3500.
How much is that in todays money?
The money was obviously left to his children etc,but,unfortunately,my great-grandmother ended up losing the lot to a dodgy solicitor...THE SWINE!!
Anyway,as much as it will probably 'torture' me,it would still be interesting to know just how much my folk were actually worth all those years ago?

One of my neighbor's father in law has not paid taxes in 15 years. Although he does own his house, he is otherwise flat broke and can't get any loans because he maxed out his credit cards a few years ago and never paid them. He is afraid to get a job that is on the books for fear that the IRS will realize he owes them money. Can he declare bankruptcy and come clean with the IRS without losing his house?

Last year i started a partime job working 10 hours per week with my husband working full time ,i was awarded child tax credits of £200.00 per month based on my earnings but i have worked quite a bit of over time since i began work and i have changed from 10 hours to 18 hours a week,I did inform them of my changed hours in Oct but i couldn't tell them my top line as i never got my wage slip and i just forgot to get back to them,now i'm worried.
