sell stuff

2007-02-05 00:35:54 · answer #1 · answered by Taylor 2 · 1 0

I sell all sorts of things on Ebay, mainly clothing though. I get all manner of things in from Vintage to second hand to new label stuff. It's hard to suggest a specific way to obtain stuff to sell on there - I get some stuff given to me (lucky me), I also get stuff at a discount through friends who work for clothing retailers (legally I'd like to point out!) and I also keep and eye out for vintage clothing in second hand / charity shops (me being a bit of a vintage clothing junkie helps).

I sometimes happen to see things in sales that are being sold exceptionally cheaply - I re-sell it on. Often it comes from regional or local places so may not be accessible to everyone, therefore I'm not trying to rip anyone off, more giving people access to products they wouldn't otherwise have access to.

It's a matter of keeping your eyes peeled for stuff you can sell on for a profit. It takes time to get used to but you'll get the hang of it.

The other route is selling arts/crafts that either you or a friend makes. That could be homemade jewellery, clothes, paintings etc. - original stuff that no one else will have. I know people who sell jewellery that they made and turn a nice little profit on it.

Basically the sky is the limit!! Try something, if it doesn't work, move on to a new idea!

Good luck!

Hello there,

The best way i find to make money on eBay, is selling good DVDs or games, they always seem to go for good prices, and put a picture next to the listing it always attracts more people.

Good luck

buy things that are in demand when the preice is low, and sell them when the price goes up.

I started doing this with Disney Special Edition DVDs a few years ago...for example, I bought 50 copies of the Snow White (UK) Special edition DVD box-set with the book at £25 each, and sold them over the next 2 years at between £50 and £80 each...

the same applies to books like the Easton Press signed numbered limited editions and Folio Society books too...

so do your research, start small, find a market you like and know a lot about, and remember, start small!

Buy low, sell high!

I bought several bags of half dollars from the US mint and plan on selling them on e-bay about 5 years from now. My projected prfit margin (based on historical currency sales) should be about $1.00/coin. It may not seem like much, but a $200 return on a $240 investment sounds pretty good to me!

Pick a niche and study it. Once you start selling build a system. For example have a website or BLOG where you sell stuff and put a stuffer in the box you ship to get people to your website or BLOG.

Don't focus on the single sale, but on everything you can sell to that one customer.

Buy things for cheap (e.g. car boot) and try and make a profit. And accept payment through Postal Order or Cheque because Paypal charges to accept money from other people.
