A freind (who has previous security experience) of mine was placed in the TSA's 'ready pool' for employment. I was wondering if anybody knew how long would it take for him to gain employment with the TSA? I mean after being placed on the 'ready pool' how much longer would he have to wait before hearing something for certain on a start date. He came down for the interview and all & was told that he passed the assesment test.

I currently have four credit cards that I am trying to pay off...I used one credit card that has no interest to pay two cards off. But here is my issue...I just got my taxes done and I owe over $2000 to the Fed and to the State and I feel that I have no choice but to use one of my credit cards to pay it all off. Can someone tell me how I can get ahead on all of my credit card payments? I currently send twice the minimum amount if not more on all of my credit card payments...but I am unable to save money for a rainy day.

I dont want to have any credit cards anymore because I feel that I am behind and stuff and I really want to get ahead and start saving money...

Any advise would help...

Thank you in advance.

I have 2 solid references: a corporate VP and an M.D. Are 2 solid references generally enough?

I know that 3 references are generally what applications ask for, but my other reference options lack the credentials of my other two and although they think highly of me I'm not sure how well they would come across over the phone or if they'd be careful enough to say the right things.

Given my solid education and experience in other fields (I'm transitioning from politics/business development to market research) would two solid references suffice?

I got my taxes done at H & R BLOCK and I owe over $2000 to the Federal and to the State- I understand why I owe money to the Federal...Its because I took out all of my retirement money when I quit my old job and they taxed me the usuall 20% out of it....but what I dont understand is why I owe money to the State? How does that work out?

Can someone help explain all this to me?

Thanks in advance.

I hate my job. I am bored with the field I am in. I think I could excel in this new field. Is returning for a second bachelor's degree logical? Possible? Am I avoiding the realities of life by considering a drastic alternative to working for the next 4 years?

My husband is breaking into the insurance industry after teaching in public schools. He is being courted by several insurance agencies including Nationwide and Farm Bureau. He's leaning toward Farm Bureau at this point. Can anyone tell us how to negotiate a salary with them... He's going in blind and has no idea how their system of salary/commission/bonuses etc. works. Any input will help!!
