My husband has business losses that will offset his income of 85K and Im wondering if I claim the child...will I get a bigger benefit then he does. I read everywhere the the benefit for filing married is much more beneficial than married/separate. Although doesn't the fact that he lost so much on his business make him at a loss no matter how many more deductions he would take by WIFE and CHILD credit..I mean I think I would gain by FILING SEPARATE.....LOW INCOME of 6K and ONE CHILD as a dependent....Am I correct on this ASSUMPTION?

Thanks,

After completing my 2006 Federal taxes, I owe $1,000. Can I invest this money in my retirement instead of paying the government? If so, how and when is the deadline?

I am a nanny and have two interviews on the same day. Ive been through this before and the families will usually take a couple of days to call and let you know if you have the job or not. I just want to know if i should let each family know that i have other families interested in me and interviewing me. should i do it? would it be a good idea? and if so, how should i tell them?

I work full time- thursday in one place and the other four days in another place. I've been offered an interview for the thursday but the company I work for is less than keen on me having time off. But if I rearrange the interview the other company could feel the same way. Do either company have obligations to allow me the time off as theoretically I'm part time at both jobs. How can I force them to give me time off, or should I rearrange and phone in sick to the other job?

This is for the hooters girls out there. I just started working at hooters and I am currently being trained on service bar. When do I get paid, since I'm not "certified" yet and haven't been on the floor yet I leave home every day broker than the day before because gas is killing me. When will I start making money or will I get a paycheck while I'm in training?

We believe the inscription "D OUOSVAVV M on the Shepherd Monument at Shugborough hall is an anagram. The D and M on the lower line are the initials of two words: DEVOUT MASON. We have visited the site and discovered much evidence to back our theory. The key to this mystery lies in the pair of "v"'s on the top line, I interpreted these as a pair of roman numerals, the sum of which is TEN. giving us D OUOSVATEN M, a simple anagram!
So, my question is how do we prove this? I believe the answer lies in the mathematics of chance, what is the chance of this pair of "significant" words being generated from these eleven random letters purely by accident? Can anyone help me with this one??
I would be grateful if you could forward this on to as many people as possible, the more brains on this one the better!
Regards,

Martin.

I spent $800 moving slightly closer to work. I know I dont get the moving closer to work deduction. I only have about 1200 bucks in itemized deductions for 2006. I think I will end up using the standard deduction. Is there a way for me to deduct this 800 bucks + 200 in charity on top of my standard deduction? I am single, no kids, live in an apartment and live in Boston.
