I've been laid-off 5 times in the last 7 years due to the economy (my jobs were usually sent to India) and it finally wiped out my finances, savings, retirement, etc. last year. My last layoff was in November of 2005 and I finally just got a new job this month. In 2006, I was looking at filing Chapter 7 (AND I qualified for it according to the attorney).

Before anyone starts thinking I'm some sort of deadbeat who's in way over his head and a crummy worker, I'm not. Every job that laid me off, gave me raises AND promotions prior to the layoffs. I was typically making $70K per year and able to afford ALL of my living expenses and be able to put away savings prior to the layoffs.

So, here's my question:
My new job makes $86K per year now and I CAN afford to start paying my bills again. Should I continue to file bankruptcy on schedule and start a 3 or 5 year repayment plan under Chapter 13, or should I negotiate with my creditors to establish a private payment plan with them?

I'm attempting to do my mother-in-law's taxes...she was born in Mexico and got married there to another Mexican about 30 years ago...when filing for taxes here does she have to file as married? They never married here or anything. I was just running the numbers and she would get more if filing as single but I don't know if that's allowed...

An extremely tight, dark, gritty, 1-BR apt is not good housing for my daughter who recently underwent a heart transplant. How can I rent, at very low cost, a(cannot buy) bright, cheery, home for us? Your answer can help change our lives for the better!

I have a lot of experience in small business and am in the process of opening a Business Brokerage firm. My dilema is should I name it "ABC Business Brokers" or "ABC Business Group". I have dealt with a lot of business brokers that have reputation of being "self-served". So I am afraid of the negativity around the the words "BUsiness Brokers". Does it really matter? Any thoughts will be appreciated. Thank You.

I have 53 dollars saved up, and I want to buy something really cool with it. If I save up for about 1 and a half more months, I would have about 80. So, basically, I can save up and have more, so I could buy almost anything under 200 dollars. What should I get?

I put up a new web site last weekend. I know it's not as flashy as most sites, but it's my own work and I thought it was okay. I clicked on "submit url" to google and yahoo so it could be included in their searches.

I checked the Google Page Rank of my site. It has a PR of zero. According to what I've read, this is not really normal. Most sites with ANY content should have a 3 or better. (Am I right or did I misinterpret?)

Anyway, what can I do to improve my PR? Thanks in advance for any and all answers. I never let questions go to voting.... I always check back and pick a best answer. I appreciate people taking the time to help me out. :-)

P.S. The site with the 0 PR is: http://www.superteacherworksheets.com
