It is a urine analysis. That is the most common form of drug testing. They can also take blood and hair samples but drugs leave the blood steam usually too quickly and the hair samples can be very inaccurate, depending on alot of factors (hair processing, prescription medication, etc) They also can do spinal taps but they won't do that (very painful and harmful AND expensive to perform) unless it is a very high security clearance government job. SO, you pee in a cup, they test it, usually the only things that they catch is THC (Marijuana). Because, drugs like MDMA (Ecstasy), Meth, Cocaine, even Alcohol all leave your blood stream too fast.
If you have been using drugs, they usually don't spring the test on you for the interview (you have time to clean out your system)- drink LOTS LOTS LOTS of water and vinegar. Take a nican supplement. All that helps clean out your system of any drugs. And then after you are hired, maybe consider making a choice to stay clean because depending on the company they may spring tests on you from time to time.
