Advertizing something that is not what it is sposed to be or they have only small amounts on hand so you don't get what lured you into the store of that so-called special in the hopes you will stay and shop for other things. Antyhing than deceives the potential customer.

There are many types of consumer deception. Some people call them. One common one that alot of people politicians use is called an "either or fallacy" this is when they say something to the effect of you have to choose this product, person, policy, etc, or you have to choose that one. They only give you 2 choices, when in actuality there are several other choices.
Another way of looking at consumer deception, is just as down right lying, for example a commercial for a product will claim that it can do all sorts of neat things, that it has never even been tested for.
There are many other ways, that consumers are decepted, like a lot of pharmaceutical companies will give fake statisics, for example saying that 85% of all children have such and such disease, so you should give them this medicine just in case.
These are only a few, but I hope it helps.
