Yup! Any child born at any time in 2006 is considered your dependent for the entire year. If you haven't applied for his SSN, get going on that quickly as you'll need it to claim him as a dependent.

He should have been born on the 31/12/2006 or before.
You will be able to claim it for your 2007 taxes
