We believe the inscription "D OUOSVAVV M on the Shepherd Monument at Shugborough hall is an anagram. The D and M on the lower line are the initials of two words: DEVOUT MASON. We have visited the site and discovered much evidence to back our theory. The key to this mystery lies in the pair of "v"'s on the top line, I interpreted these as a pair of roman numerals, the sum of which is TEN. giving us D OUOSVATEN M, a simple anagram!
So, my question is how do we prove this? I believe the answer lies in the mathematics of chance, what is the chance of this pair of "significant" words being generated from these eleven random letters purely by accident? Can anyone help me with this one??
I would be grateful if you could forward this on to as many people as possible, the more brains on this one the better!
Regards,

Martin.

I am a mason and dint understand the question. If this is a Masonic thing there will be no way to figure it out. For example my screen name is a is an masonic anagram but there is no "key" used to solve it. Someone tells you what it means and then when you see it it reminds you. It does look a little familiar
