A freind (who has previous security experience) of mine was placed in the TSA's 'ready pool' for employment. I was wondering if anybody knew how long would it take for him to gain employment with the TSA? I mean after being placed on the 'ready pool' how much longer would he have to wait before hearing something for certain on a start date. He came down for the interview and all & was told that he passed the assesment test.

That's a polite way of saying " Get lost".

A "Ready pool" is just a collection of applicants that have passed the initial stages of the application process, and they are placed on hold until they have openings available. It might be a short wait, or he may never actually get hired, depending on how many people quit or move on to different positions. At least that's my understanding of a "ready pool".
