This is for my MBA 500 class. I have been to Wikipedia, but didn't quite find what I'm looking for. I have found some results on Decision Trees and Decision Theory in general. I am looking for something that discusses models people use to make decisions (six sigma, fishbone, 9-step decision theory, etc.) Does anyone know of a site, or what keywords to search with. I have used decision making models, decision philosophies, how to make decisions, but did not find what I want.

I used to file with H&R Block and I have some friends that have used turbo tax but it seems like a few co-workers who earn the same salary and not homeowners like myself seem to get more back filing with their accountant. I am not a dependant but am work my first full-time job after college and was just curious. It seems like they rush you through at H&R Block.

I'm an elementary education major and I am a junior. I have recently realized that I don't have much for my resume. I have worked since I was 17 but it has always been bartending or serving in restaurants. I really wish I had lots of experience working with kids. It's just really hard for me to find the time to volunteer to work with children because I'm always working or doing school work. Do things like helping with vacation bible school help? If I volunteered over the summer to read books to kids and maybe do small activities with them would that be good? I need some suggestions please!!
Thanks!

I was just doing a so called friend a favor to rent a room in my house for a short time that has become over a year. Now she has reached a decision that the house needs some repairs, so she called city for a inspection. She has refused to pay rent for 1.5 months, and says she can't be evicted for this reason. All the repairs that need to be done has no connection to her 1 room she rents. What is the procedure for eviction?

I am a stay home mom for 16yrs. , my husband never wanted me to work , at the time when my kids were small I was busy in their care. Now , I am thinking what will I do if something happened to my husband, how would I manage to take care of myself? What are some good investments I could make to safe guard myself for the future. I have just started to work in a private dr. office but I am thinking of changing to a gov. or state job because they have better retirement benefits. Thankz for your time.

Both represent sales of mutual funds in 2 kids respective UGMAs.

I hope I am mis-interpreting form 8814. It says can be used for "capital gain distributions", but I assume this does not include long term capital gains from a sale: correct?

Form 8615 allows cap.gains to be combined across kids so they can be taxed at a higher rate, but cap.losses are truncated to zero in line 3 so can't be used to balance other kids gains. Right?

Usually, in spite of the complexity, the IRA makes sense when you think about it. Can it be that they want to tax the sum of the capital gains of the kids at the higher rate, but not allow a balance with capital loss of the kids, even if they are allowed to balance out on individual tax forms? This seems unjust.

My company let me go after 13 years of service with no write ups or probation of any kind. I did sign an employee at will at the start of my employment, but it still feels like such a shaft deal. It happened in the state of Utah. Options?
