I do not want to become liable for any charges he may make. Is there anything I can do to make sure he can't sign up for credit or at least make it a little more difficult for him while we are married? I have thought of putting a fraud alert on my credit file, which I would think would show up if he tried applying for credit while we are still married. Any advice or previous experiences you can share?

I've never done my own taxes but I am thinking about doing them myself this year. I just can't justify paying to have someone else to it. I'll have a pretty simple return. I'm a single mom, filing head of household, I have 1 son and the only thing I plan to claim is daycare expenses. I guess I'm just worried that I'll screw it up. I've never even really looked closely at my W-2. I'm not sure what it all means. Do you think I can do it by myself? Are the online sites easy enough for someone like me to understand?

My dad never told me about the glass ceiling...actually, he probably never knew it exsisted. I hit it in my early thirties, and I hit it hard. No, not hard enough to break thru, just hard enough to remind me that it was still there. Is it still there? How do you overcome it? Is it diminishing with time and with the growth of women in the workforce? Do some industries have tougher ceilings than others?

I am in such a delimna at work. I am friends with this girl in my office. It's just me and her. She has been doing this job for 6 months and has not gotten the hang of it and my boss is tearing his hair out from all her mistakes. She's the sweetest person and we go out to lunch alot. She loves her job.
Today my boss asked me into the office and wanted to inform me what was going on. He said in the next week they were going to ask her to take a nother position on the plant floor which was where she came from. My boss said she is just not getting it. She does make so many mistakes that costs the company money. I usually try to catch her mistakes but sometimes I don't.
I feel like crying w hen he told me that. It is going to kill her to be sent back to her old job. It's like a demotion.
I was told not to say anything so now I have to work with her and I had to lie to her about what my boss wanted. I said I made a mistake and he wanted to talk to me about it. I don't know what to do.
