I am a single mom with a 14 year old son and my finances need to improve.I cannot get a second job and properly take care of my son too.I own my own home but my credit is not very good and I want to lose weight before I go into the dating world. My house payments are up to date but I owe 4,000 for high interest credit cards and doctor bills.Losing weight is hard enough without having to worry about the stress of finances.I don not want loan companies to respond to this.Need some advice.

I've received a 1099-Misc and would like to estimate how much I must pay for taxes. My taxable income for this year will be within the 15% bracket, with no chance to go outside of it.

Ok, so I'll have to pay 15% for federal taxes right? Then I'll have to pay an additonal % for state, do I also have to pay social security? Any others? What I'm really looking for is the exact percentages I'll have to pay.

Please help as it is important.

i just got my fist job working at this breakfast/cafe place. i started adn worked for about three weeks. then for christmas my parents took us to Florida for 2 weeks. i told my boss that i was going to have to leave for 2 weesk and he said it was alright.

the thing is because i just started working i didnt have any official work hours so the manager just called me when i needed to go in. when i got back from florida i called my manager and he told me he'd let me know when to come in. its been almost 1 1/2 weeks now and still no call. since i dont have any hours i have no idea if i am supposed to be going in or if they have just let me go.

i know its partly my fault for having to leave for 2 weeks, but if they are going to let me go they can atleast tell me, not leave me hanging. what should i do??

Ok. Because I have made mistakes helping folks, I have got myself in a slump. I have a low credit score and I keep working to fix it but still have other bills. I do not use credit cards so everything I purchase comes out of my checking account. Yes it gets tight. I pay $1600 in rent, I make $100,000 annually and because I don't own a home Uncle Same hits me with $10,000 taxes owed for 2006. I keep saying I will buy once I straighten my credit but that might take awhile and in the mean time I am owing Uncle Sam. Please help I don't know what to do. Yes I am constantly trying to clean up the cred and keep bills up-to date. Any advice offered is much appreciated. All I know is if I don't buy a home, my owed taxes will get higher and higher. HELP AND THANKS!!!!

I was told by the Doc's office there would only be a 50 dollar copay per visit, and now my insurance company says I will be responsible for thousands that they are not paying.

They sent the checks for their portion of the payment to me. If I am already going to be thousands in the hole, shouldn't I just keep those checks or can a person REALLY go to jail for that.

If it is just a collections thing, I will already have that when I can't pay my portion.

What do you thinnk?

I live in the mid-west of the United States. I found the following story on Yahoo and find it hard to beleive that they have three offers already.

"London and the 77-square-foot former storage room — slightly bigger than a prison cell and without electricity — is going for $335,000 USD"

It is estimated it would take another $59,000 USD to fix it up to be liveable. And it is in a basement. Location is one thiing but........

That much money would buy a lot of property where I live.
Does this mean you couldn't touch this closit for less than $1,000,000 USD in ten years.

It seems like most of my day is spent doing mindless paperwork and boring meetings. I do absolutely no hands on work which was the main reason I chose the engineering field. When I try to apply for a job that does more hands on, I am promptly told that I don't have enough hands on experience. No kidding right! The hardest equations I use are simple addition and multiplication. I feel like I'm getting dumber every day. Is there any way to recover from this hole I'm in without changing professions? I am considering going back to school to start a new profession with more hands on work.

Personal trainer is a good example. Chef is not bad except that culinary school is quite costly. Nurse came across my mind but it requires another 4 years of school. I'm a computer professional but staring at computers all day is straining my eyes out.
