Yes he can. These are just new terms for the renewal. You dont have to sign it, just give your 30 day notice and move.
Usually the security deposit equals one months rent. If he raised your rent $50.00 then the security deposit goes up $50.00. So, either accept the new lease or move.

Yes, he can raise your security deposit when renewing your lease only if you decide to keep the same apartment. But, he has to give you written notice that he will raise your security deposit and he also has to give you written notice that your rent will be raised and by how much. This is a state law in every state and it falls under Landlord and Tenants Rights. Go to your address bar on your computer and type in the state you live in and follow it with landlord and tenants rights.

In most states the landlord can raise the rent once a year unless he/she makes improvements on the home/apart. But he can not raise the security deposit at all.

you do no longer provide sufficient advice to respond to your question. a number of it is going to count on the guidelines the place you're located. a number of it is going to count on the hire you signed, and no count if it addresses this subject in specific. greater often than no longer, i could say that sure, because your risk-free practices deposit replaced into per hire, and the hire has greater desirable, you're able to be asked for greater. you are able to exceedingly much truthfully be asked to pay the $seventy 5 distinction between the quantity you paid and the quantity of your final month's hire, which would be $seventy 5 greater desirable than you estimated once you made the deposit. i could additionally examine to be sure that your hire specifies that the quantity you paid once you moved in is utilized to your final month's hire, wherein case you do no longer owe any hire (different than that $seventy 5) the final month you reside there. some people throw out the term "first, final and risk-free practices" while in actuality it extremely is first month's hire + 2 months' hire as a secure practices deposit, wherein case you DO could pay hire your final month, and your landlord has X days to return the risk-free practices deposit much less any bona fide and documented deductions from it once you vacate.

You should not have to pay another security deposit if you are renewing your lease.
Your just extending it your not moving to a new apt.. and if they are tyring to get more security deposit from you thats a rip off.. you should tell them you dont want to extend the ocntract and ask for your security deposit back and use it elsewhere...

No. Security deposits are only taken when you are a new renter. Not when the lease is renewed. If they do, thats pretty low.
