last friday my father went over to the lumber company to pick up some pipes(he is a plumber.) for a job he was doing. while outside in the back of the lumber yard where they keep all the lumber and pipes. he was talking to the manager . while he and the manager were talking about the supplies two workers were loading my dads truck. one of the workers brushed the top of the managers head with one of the pipes. the manager got so angry started yelling and demanding a apology the worker said no man it was an accident blah blah blah. so the manager went on arguing with the worker. when all of a sudden the manager grabbed the pipes and threw them they hit my dad in the back of his head. he was caught off guard . they took him inside for questioning. and he said he was alright but the next day his head hurt and his right arm . so does anyone have any idea on what kind of action he should take?
hes never been in such a situation.

Yes and the company knows it, that's why they took him in. I would get an attorney.
At a minimum he should contact the company and let them know he will be going to a doctor.

Your father suffered an assault. As with many injuries your dad probably had adreneline rushing right after the injury so it dulled any pain he might have had. The next day, when the pain started he should have called the lumber company and told them he was going to the doctor to get checked out. If they were to do the right thing they would offer to pay for any expenses he incurred. If your father missed work because of it he should also let them know. If they are smart they should pay a settlement to compensate him for missing work. A police report, even if it is late would not be out of line either. If they won't be reasonable then he should contact an attorney.

He will need to call the store immediately and tell them he will be seeing a doctor because he thinks there was an injury from the accident at the store. If he had not done so already, he should have the store fill accident report, which will go to their insurance carrier. He will need to see a doctor and make sure to tell him it could be from the accident. If everything is done right, somebody from the insurance co will call your dad and discuss the options. If the lumber co gives him hard time, he could go to an injury attorney, but I don't think it's necessary.

The store carries liability insurance and the manager should of been more cooperative with your dad...he sounds ignorant...mean..It is better to incur an exam expense than to go off on a tangent and think other things are wrong...Get him to a doctor or ER...your insurance will refer bills to the store insurance..I would notify the manager of going to get examined and let it go at that...He should of encouraged an exam
He probably is afraid of loosing his job...probably has other stresses

It depends how far he wants to take it. He could involve the police or just see a lawyer to sue for personal injury compensation.
#edit# Then you still need to know how far your dad wants to take it. If there were any witnesses to what happened, are they prepared to make statements? This begins to sound like a police job. And will the witnesses be prepared to speak against their employer?
I hope your dad has been to the docs and he was ok.

hell yes your father has a good case. first to talk to those injury lawyers that you see on TV. Then they will do from there. go to the hospital and get a medical report on what have gotten injured. if what you said in your story is true then you have a 100% chance to win the case.
