Yes, I think hard work can achieve a lot. However, I'm not sure if certain things can never be acheived w/ out a certain level of intellect.

I think in most cases hardwork pays off, even if one isn't too smart, but in other cases, if you don't have the brain for it, no matter how much work you do, you won't make it. For example, you do have to have a certain level of intelligence to become a doctor. If I wanted to become a dr., even if I worked my tail off I couldn't do it because I'm not that smart!

In today's workplace hard work can achieve a lot. When coupled with the right personality, it achieves more. When coupled with the right social skills, you have a recipe for success even if the person has only average intelligence.

A person who recognizes real skills in another and helps to promote those skills almost always reaps some type of reward without asking for it.

Whether it can or not depends on the situation. I believe that hard work and a genuine desire to improve goes alot farther than intellegence. I'm a teacher and I've noticed that the ones that do really well and get good grades are not always the naturally gifted and smart students, sometimes the smart ones slack off and get overconfident and the little ones the study hard and ask questions come out on top.
