how do you know if you are quilified for a equity loan.I know we have equity in our home and in the past I have always been told "sorry you are not quilified for anequity loan but we can refinance your home".I know that the lender makes alot more off a refi,but does it have something to do with credit scores?If a person has alot of equity in their home why not be able to just get that kind of loan instead of a refi?Or is it all about the lender making more money?

How to make a BANKERS DRAFT ?

Hi aweryone. I am new in UK and I just want to ask you how to make a BANKERS DRAFT or BUILDING SOCEITY CHEQUE ?
I want to rent a flat but estate agents do not take cash so I need to do one from above.
Can I expect any problems if I have Basic Account in Abbey to do this?

Is it legal to charge sales tax on shipping/handling in California?

I purchased products from Partylite a company that sells candles and other decorative products. The consultant added the shipping and handling to my subtotal and charged me sales tax. Is this even legal?

what are some neat ways to earn money?

Im too young for a job, but would like to finance my trip to Europe without relying on my parents they work hard enough. Besides recycling, and ebay what are some other ways to earn some quick money? This 3 week trip will cost me 4000$. Anything is helpful, thank you.

I am a contractor who was forced to file a W-9 for a TIN. What happens if i don't pay my taxes for one year?

I am assuming the company I am working for will submit my W-9 and inform the IRS of my wages. Is that so? If they do not submit my wages to the IRS would the IRS expect me to file and pay income tax every year even if I earned no wages or was unemployed? I am receiving direct deposit of my wages from the company I am working for currently. Would there be any proof of these wages provided to the IRS from the company I am contracting with? I have just started this contractor job in 2007 and was an employee with a W-2 until Nov of 2006. I am hearing conflicting information of persons who do not file, and those who do. This is not a moral issue I am interested on the legal and financial outcomes if I chose to not pay quarterly estimated taxes for 2007.

Need advice on taxes?

Ok folks here my dilema, last year I claimed head of household because my parents no longer work(receive SSI) but this year my older sister wants to claim H of H and claim me, my brother and sister this year(done at H&R). Last year I made more, but this year she made more than me andmy sister and wants to claim all three of us. Can she do this this year or no? Has anybody done something similiar?

P.S. I didn't get audited by the IRS if anybody is wondering, the guy their at H&R said that this is Ok'd by the IRS.

is it legal to take equity out of a house you just purchased?

I hear that you can purchase a home for say $100,000, but it is valued at $150,000. buy the house with no money down and a low interest rate, take out some of the equity after close, use that equity to pay the mortgage for a year, re-fi after six months and then put the house up for sale. can this be done? is it legal for the person buying the home? or is it a scam?

Buyer wants to pay with a check or M.O., I don't accept form of payment only PayPal. Do I have to accept this

Buyer wants to pay with check or money order which I dont' accept, and is on the listing. Only paypal and credit cards. Do I have to accept the check /money order because the buyer has won anyway?
Note, I have given the buyer the option to use a debit card with paypal and am waiting to see if she can do that.
