I earn less than ten thousand a year. We live in a mobile home that I bought and I buy the food and our clothes. He is disabled but going to school for retraining. He pays the utilities and has back child support that is being paid out of his check. Would it be good for me financially to claim him?

I feel really dumb to ask this, but I got a 1099-INT from the bank for him. He has a 90-Day add on certificate worth about $2500 right now and he earned $42 in interest last year. Do I have to file for him?

In recent years, however, some managers have avoided using job descriptions in their organizations, beleving that the practice encourages employees to behave as if the job were their personal property, thus limiting management;s ability to deploy workers flexibly in different work roles according to need. In addition , critics of job descritpions caim that is almost immposible to provide an accurate job description, since many jobs are in a state of continous flux as technologies and market conditions change. As one manager put it , "Job descriptions are obsolete in my company before they are even written."

My husband and I were wondering how to file....jointly or seperatly. He claims married 0 and I claim married 1. Together we have 1 child and he has another from a previous relationship. We do not own our own home and do not have any stock, bonds, or IRA. Would it matter how we file? What would be the benifit of each of the filings?

My husband and I were in a debt settlement program. I am wondering if we'll have to claim this on our taxes? I know we'll have to claim it, but will we have to pay? This is what our debt program states on their website and what we were told by them:

Creditors are required to report canceled debts exceeding $600 to the IRS and you are supposed to report the same as income on your annual tax return. However, the IRS permits you to write off any “income” from canceled debts up to the amount by which you were “Insolvent” at the time. Therefore, unless you have a positive net worth, then you ordinarily will not be obligated to pay taxes on the forgiven amounts. Additionally, if you do not qualify as insolvent non principal amounts such as fees accumulated on the account may be deducted from the amount reported.

We've never had to pay but always received money back. Will this deduct from the money we should receive?

I'm not some koook that doesn't understand that our taxes pay for the roads and all public services and that it's really the cost of living in society. I don't think the government is evil. But I do think they are taking too much from me. I'm a single young man, making a good living, but they are just taking too much out of my paycheck.

I know I know, someone will say, "Vote Republican" . Well I probably need to, but isn't there something more I can do to get taxes lowered?

This is America right? The land of the people right? Where we all have a vote, and I know all of us would like the government to take less from us (except those that would like the government to give MORE to them! haha)

I know it isn't a simple issue but there must be something I can do to change the current tax rates.

Ok... so here's the question...
I work 9pm- close but they usually close at 9 and there's no event going on tonight (so it wouldnt be later than 9). And when we work shifts the minimum hour is 3 hours. so that would mean I have to work 9-12... but I think its closing at 9... so did they just scedual me for cleaning up or what?
