I'm about to be made redundant from a grade 2 job while the position above me is vacant. The open position (grade 3) is initially being offered to other internal staff on grade 3, whose jobs are also being made redundant, then to other internals. If its unfilled it will then be advertised externally. At this point I will have left the company (with a modest payoff)

My question: Is there anything to stop me applying for the job at this point (ie as an external) and can the company refuse to consider me having just made my previous job redundant and given me severence pay?

BTW, this may confuse things but, I am effectively already doing the job of the open postion anyway - just on a reduced salary

We have a large amount of equity in our current house.
We have no bills other than the mortgage on our current house.

Is a home equity loan to get to the 20% down payment and then a conventional loan on the investment property itself the best way to go?

Or is it best to finance the investment property itself rather than using the equity in the primary residence. We could finance 100% of the loan purchase price or do a secondary mortgage to come up with a 20% down payment.

I have horrid acne and I am so sick of being made fun of. My mom has given me several generic (she is too cheap to buy anything that might actually work) products over the past 5 years of this crap acne and NONE of them have worked. Before I look into prescription, I would like to try proactive because I have heard it really works if you use it right. But, my mom, being the cheapskate that she is, won't get it for me. I currently have a grand total of $5.89. As compared to the price of the product- 39.95 plus shipping and handling. I make a crap allowance of 4 dollars a week. At this rate, I might have enough by.... summer. What should I do to speed this up? I am not allowed to get a job and don't really know what to do. I am very tempted to get my parents visa # and write it in but I would get caught easy. What do you reccomend I do?

I do decorative (faux) finishes and am an applicator of other high end finished such as Venetian Plaster and Clay based plasters. I have been the only employee of this business and now I am busy enough that I have to hire real employees and do the website thing. I have been calling my company something locally and never thought like a dope that anyone else would use that name. The website has always been available and I never secured the domain name like I should have! Now I can't use the name I have been calling myself here for a website. The name was Renaissance Finishes. Can anyone else help me come up with a catchy name that would either be about Faux or have an old world connotation to it? I have seen companies with names like Fi Fi FIux..a little too gofy for my taste..but lets see what 'yall can do! I know you are all so creative I love coming here and reading what you all have to say. I really believe someone can hook me up with a cool name! THANK YOU GUYS!!!!
