can my work make me work more hours than my contrackt and if thay can how much notice have thay got to give me ?

Unfortunately yes - they usually hide it in terms like 'as the business needs'.

Just opt out and use the Euro Directive - can't really do anything about that EXCEPT make it hard for you so you leave!

Legally nobody can make you work against your will. If you think that the work assigned to you needs more number of hours than what is in your contract, you can talk to your boss/employer for overtime-pay for extra hours needed or reduce the work load.

if they state in your contract that overtime ios complusary then yes otherwise no. if they want you to work over 48 hours then you must sign the to opt out of the working times directive.

they can pretty much tell you with no notice
