I'm currently putting myself through college and i've come up with an easier way to support myself rather than work 35-40hrs per week. The shingle roof homes where i live are covered with a fungus (blue-green algea) and not only is it an eyesore but it destroys the roof over time. I'll be cleaning the roof. I've grown up in the construction business so otherwise i have some how-to knowledge ... but to begin this one man operation i need to establish a name. Also, "Roof Cleaning" is out of the question. Thanks for the input and if i choose to use any name, without modification, i'll contact him/her and send $100.

If they owned 51% of the shares would they be at risk for a hostile takeover? I'm just trying to get a basic idea of how many shares I should buy in a business deal I may pursue while avoid being a sitting duck if I only bought 25% of the shares. Thank you.

It was basically the same questions that I would have answered in a face to face interview. Essay type questions. I answered all the questions and now I'm not sure what to do. With a face-to-face interview I would send a thank you letter and make a follow up call. Should I do the same in this case?
I have never even heard of a written interview until now. Does anyone else have experience with it?

I'm applying for a job and it says to only apply directly online or through email. I typed up my cover letter and resume in word and decided to email it in as an attachment. My question is if it is necessary to sign the cover letter and then scan it back into the computer? Or is it not necessary?

I am interested in starting some type of insurance company for pre-paid legal representation. There are plenty of pre-paid legal services / insurance companies that assist in giving Leal advice but none that actually provide legal representation in court proceedings. A lot of these prepaid legal services / insurance companies that assist in giving Leal advice give a discount on legal representation but is not an actual plan for that reason. How can I start a company or a program that provides this? I want it to work like a health insurance plan instead of having network of doctors there would be a network of lawyers that are broken down into categories, such as family lawyers, divorce lawyers, criminal, person injury lawyers, ect. I would create plans that insurer's could choose from based on there on personal legal needs and wants. How could I do this? I am in Virginia.

My boss was at a large company meeting out of state. One night they had a banquet and she got wayyyy too drunk. She put her head down at the table during a group photo and was getting sick in the bathroom. She had to be excorted to her hotel room. All of the managers and presidents were there and saw it. Do you think she will get fired?

I have recently finished my job and I am waiting to have my start date confirmed for my new job. It will be sometime at the end of the month but I need money and therefore a job in the meantime. I have tried agencies but they all say they need at least a fortnight to get references / checks made. Any ideas? - apart from night shifts on street corners!

I am an editor at a publishing company. A lot of the time I find myself without much to do at work. I am often bored. I often find myself making up work to do, just to keep from sitting, staring at my computer.

My officemate has about an equal amount of work to do... but doesn't do it. She will put things off until well after the last minute, and sit there and IM people and stalk Facebook. My officemate and I were hired to do the same job. They couldn't decide between the two of us, so they hired us both. It is obvious to me that each of us could easily handle the other's workloads in addition to our own.

I've considered leaving. I've started applying to jobs elsewhere. I fear that when I do find another job, and have to tell my boss that I'm leaving, that he's going to ask why, and I'm going to say, "Because I'm bored?" "Because you didn't need to hire two editors?"

The hard part is that I do love my job and my co-workers.

Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated.

I really try hard to keep my life on track. I make lists etc., and try to keep payments current. Most of the time it's OK, and everything works out. Just seems like when I lose track for a second, I end up overdrawn and have to pull money out of savings etc. to stay on top. I hate this, and want to keep better track of money. I've tried writing down every expenditure, but then forget to do it. It's not like I live extravagantly or in any kind of luxury, or try to get out of responsibility. It's like something just disappears from my head for a while, and I can't keep track of what I've spent. Even though they're just little piddly expenses, it doesn't take much to overdraw an account and get overdraft fees. Does anyone know of a good, practical way to manage finances? Please don't dis this, I'm really trying to get my crap together here!

The constitution includes a rather confusing directive with regards to taxation:

Art. 1 Section 8: "The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States; but all duties, imposts and excises shall be uniform throughout the United States"

Art 1 Section 2: "Representatives and direct taxes shall be apportioned among the several states which may be included within this union, according to their respective numbers"

Art 1 Section 9: "No capitation, or other direct, tax shall be laid, unless in proportion to the census or enumeration herein before directed to be taken. "

A constitutional amendment, #16, was required to allow for income taxes to be levied in the U.S.

More info can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sixteenth_Amendment_to_the_United_States_Constitution#_note-2

Please try to support your case with relevant evidence.
