I am a stay at home mom. I have had some praise for my writing in the past. I would like to write articles online, but I don't really know where to begin. What exactly is "freelancing"? How do I begin? I am a bit of a recluse so I don't want to have to actually meet people to promote myself, I would rather do it with the anonymity of the internet. Is this possible? I have been published on www.associatedcontent, but they only pay Americans, which I am not. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am almost 17 years old. My parents haven't asked me to do this or anything, but I was just wondering how old you had to be to get a loan/credit card? Both my parents have bad credit, like under 500, because of a business that suffered. I want to help them out with bills and stuff. I have a steady job of cleaning and another for babysitting. It pays pretty good, like $10/hour and I work like 24 hours each week. Can I lie on online applications about my age? I just want a simple yes or no with details behind that answer you give me. I also have an EIN number besides my SS number.

A person works for a major corporation. This person begins to have health problems (not been there long enuff for FMLA). Due to illness' this person misses work, there have been times that it was because they were in the hosp, so vacation, etc were not an option. This person racks up attendance points (8 will get you fired). She gets to a final written warning. She ends up ill again, with note in hand she plans to go into work the following day, but is stopped by a phone call telling her that the major corporation needs to let her go, since she missed a day and was on a final written warning. (State she lives in is an "at will" state). Do you think this is fair? is she being punished for health problems?

I want to know if the Standard Chartered Enterprise Equity Growth Fund can be used as a tax-saving fund. I had invested at the IPO stage and this fund has a 3-year lock in with specific dates every 6 months when the units can be redeemed.

I am 28 and previously worked in management positions in call centres. Prior to this, I completed a law degree at university.

My dream has alwasy been to teach and I am now trying to make this a reality. I have a plan to pay off all my debts and save money over the next 4 years to do the one year post grad in primary education here in Scotland.

What I'd like to know is...what things could I try and do over this time to improve my CV, in order to make me as desirable as possible to potential selectors for University and then for prospective employers once I become qualified?

I am starting tutoring over the next week, so this is one thing but I was wondering if there was anything else you could suggest.

Thanks in advance :)

My fiance and I purchased our first home January 2006. Because we are unmarried, we can't file jointly, so I'm wondering what the best way is for us to file our taxes in terms of the mortgage interest, home expenses, etc. Who should claim it?

Someone told me that the individual who has the larger salary should claim the home. However, I make the larger salary, but he is considered the "borrower" whereas I am the "co-borrower" of the mortgage. (So, his SS# appears on all of our communications from the mortgage company.)

Does it even matter?

Thank you for your advice!

I am trying to decide whether it is time for me to look to buy, or continue renting. I'm in my mid-20s and can put about $40K down, have good credit, preapproved for a mortgage, etc. I just feel like if I'm paying $1500 for an apartment, I won't be saving much more to buy and I'm not making an investment either.

My window started leaking shortly after I moved into my apartment in August. It's an odd leak, and actually leaks through the wood molding at the top part of the bay window, where it attaches to the rest of the wall, and not actually near the window. It usually starts AFTER the rain stops. They came to fix it twice in autumn, and I thought it was fixed, but we got rain last week and it leaked again. I reported the problem again, took down my curtains, etc. They came to fix my closet yesterday (unsuccessfully) and told my roommate that they would fix my window when it was warmer. It's JANUARY. It isn't going to get warmer for a few months, but is warm enough to rain. I had to take my curtains down because it leaks gross rusty-brown water onto them and there is a light directly outside my window, which means that without curtains I get very little sleep. This situation has been going on for months now, is there anything I can do?
