As long as you are paying for insurance you are covered, you just need to go through the approval dance. Depending on how huge will show how quickly you get approved. My doctor took one look at me and said "you will be covered no doubt about it". My company had recently changed to a health insurance agency and not long after that I went for a consultation for breast reduction surgery. I got covered 100%!!

Also, check out http://www.breasthealthonline.com for some great information about breast reductions at the reduction boards!

If you lose your group insurance, you can take the COBRA which will be extremely high, but will continue to cover you at the same rate it is now. However, if you decide it is too expensive and can find coverage cheaper some where else, they will generally not cover a pre-existing condition for 12 months. You will have to decide what is right for you.

Breast Reduction surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Forerunners Healthcare .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.

Even on your existing plan, you may not be able to get it covered. Things like this surgery are an uphill battle to get covered. You need to prove medical necessity nine ways to Tuesday.
