i live in chicago and am currently working for an insurance broker. just doing office admin stuff. anyway, if i quit and don't give a notice..how quickly can i get paid? i'm suppose to get paid wed. can they hold my check longer than that, just to be a dick? please let me know. also, if i worked three weeks and got paid for two on my first check will i get that week back? lemme know!!

I'm inc NC so things might be a little different. You will get paid on the standard payday. You will get paid for the time worked during that period. It sounds like they take a week to process the timesheets and if that is the case then at the next payday you will get your last week's pay plus any vacation/sick that you cash out. The only thing I can imagine them holding the check for is if you have items that need to be checked in.

Most companies pay systems lag real time by about a week.
If you give them the standard 2 week notice, they should have your full check ready. Other non notice quits get minimal sympathy from records & payroll as it usually indicates the person is a flake / loser.
Since you are already talking about it , be grown up and give the proper notice if you want any respect from payroll.
