I have a friend whose new husband co-signed a loan for his son's college tuituon. The son failed to graduate from school and is now responsible for re-paying the loan and scholarship he had during school. How does this affect her credit standing? Is she financially responsible for the co-signed loan as it was done after they were married? And will the father also be financially responsible to help pay back the scholarship funds as well since he co-signed for the loan?? Please help asap with some information!!! Thank you!!

I currently have $12'000 vested balance in a company profit sharing account. I don't make a ton of money (30'000 a year) but is this enough money to put into some kind of investment that has the potential to grow into a decent nest egg over a long time. I'm thirty and really want to start planning for the future but like I said I don't earn alot so it's tough to save money off my earnings. Any help would be great. Thanks.

I am interesting in starting my own gift-buying or personal shopping business. I want to focus on purchasing gift for people that may not have the time or do not like to shop. I enjoy shopping and people have always said that I choose good gifts. I would expect to do this part time at first and then eventually expand. It would probably be seasonal and sparadic. I just want some ideas on where to start. I started to look at other web sites in which people do this and I plan to take a small business class at a community college. Anything else that I should do? Also, I live paycheck to paycheck and I have poor credit. Is it possible to start a business with very little or no money?

I have a friend who is 50 years old and has been working for the same company for the past 4 years. He is the best employee the company has. The owners stepson has moved to the area and took over mostly. The owner and his stepson keep making comments to my friend about his age (aren't you to old for this....aren't you ready to retire yet....etc.) Well the owner is going on vacation next week and my fiend is convinced that the stepson will fire him while the boss is gone since he will be in charge. Ever since the stepson has moved to town the working environment has been horrible...very hostile to say the least. My friend used to be the "manager" but that is no more. Do no laws against this type of discrimination appy here. The company is a small family owned business with maybe 10 employees. Everything I find relates to businesses with 15 or more employees. What can he do???

I have been at this job for almost a year, I work at an office with 2 other women. One is my boss, one is a co-worker. (they are of course friends) I am the newbie, and can do nothing right. No matter how hard I try, or how much extra I take care of I am always the scape goat for mistakes. Not that I don't ever make mistakes but my mistakes are treated differently. I am in the bathroom at least once a week in tears. I'm not sure how much more I can take. It is affecting my life outside the office, I'm so drained when I get home I just want to collapse. And I really have no one to talk to because its just the 3 of us here. Outside this office, I know very few people in the company.

I recently bought a new haircare product (CHI Silk Infusion) The product had a leak in the bottle and leaked all over my linolium floor and stained it so I thought I used everything imaginable to try to lift it up and it didn't come off it's like a neon yellow stain a really big spot so I am assuming it is a chemical reaction. I called the company of the product and they said that there isn't any harsh chemicals in the product therefore it should not stain. Well it did I said and the woman told me to try bleach or oxy clean. I did that. Didn't work. In this situation what do I do next? Should I call the company back and try and get them to fix it or is this my fault. Do I call the linolium company??? Should they be liable the floor is only 2 years old. Please Help!

I have heard for years that there is a legal stance that can be made to not pay, or deal with the IRS that is legal. If I remember correctly it had something to do with the verbage in the laws that stated ferdral taxation was a voltary program.

I'm not planning to try this, just curious if anyone had (or knew someone) whom had tried this and what the outcomes were.
