What type of information do I need to obtain someone else's credit report?

Legally you can't. The information you need would be the persons S.S.N., D.O.B., full name, address and phone number.

Even if you had all of this information? You would still need access to a program that pulls credit reports and those are all located at businesses.

To obtain someones credit report you must have a real reason for needing it. Like being a business looking to extend credit to someone. Any other use is illegal.

Why are you trying to obtain it?

In order to obtain the report you either have to be the person or be in need of the report for a business related matter be it employment, to extend credit or for volunteer purposes. You basically need the same info but you have to represent yourself as a company or the person. Which it sounds like you won't be doing.

Its illegal to obtain another person's credit file for your own personal use.

You should not be receiving anyone's credit report unless you are a business in need of a credit check for loan purposes.
