If they didn't take any taxes out and you earned a certain amount for the year non-taxed you will get a 1099-misc form in the mail from them. I filed my taxes this year with www.expresstaxrefund.com. I didn't have to know anything about taxes. It was very simple and it only took me about 10 minutes to complete. This would depend on how much you were paid. I know that banks don't send out tax notices if your interest/dividends were less than $10 that year.
If you were paid something, that was taxable, you should receive a statement in the mail.
