My re-certification is coming up on January 27th and in california you have to have 48 hours for every 2 years. My current job hardly gives us any. Does anyone know where I can get some inservices? I really want to get this done in time so I don't need to pay the late fee. Thanks! Also must be ok for california. They don't allow online inservices as far as I can tell.If anyone knows differently please let me know.

I'm going out on my own and starting my own business. Now is a good time since I no longer have any clients so it won't be a conflict of intrest to leave and start my own business because I have no clients currently that I could "steal". Anyway . . .

I live in a rural area and there are no childbirth education classes, no doulas, no LC or any of that. I plan to offer many services for new and expecting mothers: childbirth education, Labor-assistant, post-pardum care, newborn care, lactation consultant, baby-wearing, and more. I want a name that I can use for my email and website so it needs to be rather short.

Some I'm considering are:

Mommy's Helper
Right Hand Mom
Mom's Baby Steps
Every Step with Mom
Mom Source or Baby Source
Best for Baby
Baby by Mom

Any other ideas? Best suggestion gets 10 points!

My sis has been watching my son this year. I've paid her a total of $3,020 for the babysitting and this is all she has made all year. I've kept track of the money I've paid her by week for the entire year. I didn't claim what I paid her last year but told her I would be doing so this year because it is a larger amount. I haven't witheld any taxes from her. I want to know if she is going to be screwed by having to claim that amount at years end or will she not have to pay that much considering it was only 3,000? She is going to be married filing jointly w/2 dependents in Michigan Also will my giving her the spreadsheet I kept track of it on to take to her accountant be enough or do I need to give her a form of some kind?

I'm currently an engineer for a large company. The problem is the nature of my job is very stressful and lots of tension. After a day hard at work, all I could think of is to quit.

I've been offered a position at a different and much smaller company. The problem I'm not sure it's a wise choice moving from large to smaller company. Because I'm afraid I won't be able to join another large company again. Should wait and find another position at my current company or accept the new offer? I really don't know what to do.

I leant him money to pay his mortage because his house was going up for sheriff sale. I took a cash advance on my credit card but he has not giving my anything to me for the payments. He agreed to give me the first 2 months in advance and then pay the monthly payment on the card until he got a new job then he would take care of the rest as soon as he could. He hasn't given me anything so far. The amount was for $5500.00. I have tried to contact him but he wont receive phone calls and I have gone to his home but he won't answer the door. Is is possible to place a lein on this home? He has mentioned moving out of the area and hasn't paid his mortage before and I bailed him out. He has said that when he sold his house that he would pay the whole amount but I have a 4 yr old and a newborn and can't afford to pay this bill for him. I did send his bank a check from me so I do have proof that I paid this.

I worked as a union carpenter for 13 years. There were many things that I loved about the industry - like the pride I felt every time I walked by a building that I had helped put up.

And there were things I hated about the industry - the lack of job security and the high risk of injuries. I ended up having to leave the carpentry business due to a knee injury (I'm a middle school special ed teacher now)

Would you recommend carpentry as a good career choice?

And do you think a person coming into the carpentry field would be better off as a member of the Carpenters Union, or working as a non union carpenter?

Also, do you think the large number of immigrant carpenters coming into the trade and working at very low wages makes carpentry a bad career choice?

I do not know which career path I would like to take. I have all sorts of interests and cannot decide on just one. The fields that I am interested in is: social worker, interior designing, photography, music production, legal assistant, or a teacher of some sort.

If you are in any of the listed fields above, will you tell me how you feel about your career, pro/cons, if it pays well and special skills required to be successful in the field?

If your career isn't listed above, but you love what you do, your suggestions are welcomed as well. Thank You!
