I have read somewhere that if I own my life insurance policy - when I die the beneficiaries will have to pay taxes on the proceeds, because it is like a gift to them..

I have yet to meet a Wal-Mart manager with an IQ. It seems they (Wal-Mart) likes to promote the brainless idiots, rather than those that can think for themselves because they may be trouble down the road if they try to challenge upper managment.

I live in California and I work for a small car rental agency. Generally, I work 5 hours a day, and it's not surprising to me that I'm usually obligated to work 7 days a week. However, I'm not guaranteed breaks, and I've never had a 10-minute break since I've worked there. I'm not paid under the table, but by paycheck. Are there any laws that require small businesses to have breaks or are they exempt from the rules? If they were supposed to give me breaks, can I sue them?

We have a $600 total family deductible and everyone in our area accepts the insurance. We are not charged monthly for this insurance. I was just wondering if any other companies offer similar plans or if it's specific to my husband's occupation. He's a coal miner and most coal companies offer insurance packages like this. Thanks so much!

ok, this is the situation, my sister has lived at my parents for the past 2 years WITH her 2 children, she doesnt work, she is still married but her and her husband dont live togehter. he basically comes over once a week to visit the kids. he will leave her money for diapers and thats about it. other than that. she lives with my mom, she doesnt pay rent. my parents mentioned tonite that they were going to claim her AND her two children because they are living here too. my sister got mad saying she doesnt care if they claim her, but she wants to claim at LEAST one of her kids. I know from reading into it, that if she has been living here 60% of the time. which she DEFINENTLY has, that they will be able to claim her. i know for sure that the dad cant because the kids dont live with him and he barely pays for anything. my parents have paid for everything. my sister just argued that shes the one who takes care of the kids and such. but no matter what, she still lives here. who can claim?

The personal trainer is used to train help up to the new "tougher" standards that will be taking effect. SWAT officers have regular physical agility and strength tests that they MUST pass to stay on the team.

Right now, my mortgage is in my name only. My loan is for about 74k. I work as an insurance agent, and am doing pretty well for a rookie. I am on my way to making about 50k this year in my first year. The home I am wanting to buy is about 145k. What are the chances I will qualify? What can I do to help qualify? I have no credit cards. I owe 10k on a jeep, and about 15k in school loans, and about 5k in other miscellaneous loans. My wife makes about 12-15k a year.
