Yes I encountered a stupid manager when I was buying a bathing suit. There was not much left and the only one that fit me had a little bit of damage but I figured it was fixable. There was no other size left that would fit me. I've never not been offered at least 10% off a damaged piece of clothing. Does Wal-Mart really need to save a couple bucks as opposed to loosing customers for not offering good customer service? Which is more important?

Wow, your behavior was WAY out of line. They may not have handled you well, but the only person's behavior you can control is your own, and boy did you fail. Walmart, or any other commercial business, is not a place to "entertain" your child. Children should not be allowed to run around a store because they might get hurt (like that welt your child got). I think that the person who'd "HAD it" waiting for the manager was YOU, and on top of that you had a fussy toddler (we've all been in a store with a fussy toddler, and most of us recognize it's our fault for not planning our time better to get home before sleepy time). The manager immediately fixed the wire problem when it was brought to his attention, that's great customer service! So it took longer than you wanted to alert him to the problem, its not like he was waiting somewhere watching you on a camera just to see how long you'd stand there waiting for him. Then, rather than casually asking why there were so few cashiers, you jump right in accusing them of mismanagement, trust me if all those sick cashiers had come to work you'd be on here complaining that now you were probably going to get sick! I've certainly lost my cool in Walmart before--the time I tried to return a can of baby formula that I removed the plastic top from only to find that the seal was broken and they told me they weren't going to take it back, and yes they did take it back after I asked for a manager--but take some ownership for your own behavior.

Sounds to me like he's asking for someone that works at Wal-Mart. Therefore, I don't work there, and I wouldn't work there because of the way they treat their help. Don't know about promoting the brainless idiots, but it makes sense why they do. Especially in the South where they are BRAINLESS anyways!

No, I just try to remember that they are people JUST like me. Put yourself in their shoes. How many mean people do you think they may encounter in a day? That's gotta do something to a personality.
As a matter of fact, they have to deal with more rude, annoying people than I do.
I've worked in the "people industry" and let me tell you that it's easy to understand why managers/workers may be snippy by the time someone else gets to them. It doesn't make it right, but I do remind myself of that and I often get a hug from my local Wal-Mart greeter. I've made it my business to stop and tell her how wonderful and warm she is to me everytime I enter the store and THANK her for that.
The next time, go in there with an attitude that expects something good to happen. If you go in there sour as a lemon from the start, there's nothing the manager or anyone can do that'll truly please you.

People don't think about how much stress management goes through on a daily basis.we have to deal with a $$ holes all day wanting discounts and there assessment kissed. We go by policy it has nothing to do with what WE want.you bought a damaged bathing suit....we never made you buy it.we can send said bathing suit back to the manufacturer for full credit for another.Id personally knock 50% off every item if it were me but we have to go by policy.

yes I will never shop at Wall Mart again after I found out from personal experience how they abuse the handicapped people they hire as greeters. Trying to withhold earned pay checks, deny them lunch breaks, yell at them for not taking breaks and not providing someone to fill in on breaks then telling them they missed their break because they didn't take it at the right time, etc, etc etc.....

I heard that.
Everytime I go to return something in those stores, I get the third degree.
What is with that corporate mentality?
