I have been using a Dependent Care Savings Account to pay for in-home day care for my children. Do I have to give my babysitter a W-2 at the end of the year? Am I responsible for paying Social Security Taxes for the wages I have paid her?

I used to be hearing, I was a certified sign language interpreter for 28 years, until last year when I went deaf. I can no longer interpret, obviously, and for my own financial stability, would like to start a small business utilizing my and my husband's crafts (we are both quite talented--myself with soft sculpture, sewing and quilting, he with welded art and woodworking.) I would like to know what is out there in the way of grants that would help me get started. Any suggestions?

Will the government tax (income tax) me on the interest that I obtain from my CD?

And let say I have two accounts - one for CD and the other for mutual fund, and have the same amount of principal and same interest rate on both accounts. Will the government tax (income tax) me more on one of the two accounts, or will they both be taxed the same rate?

I have been working as a temporary at a company for six months I've put up with gossip and politics for some time I know its at every job. The issue is the ladies I work with have seniority and are friends as well so you never know when to trust someone because they are constantly tryin to set people up by asking questions also I asked if there was a chance to become pemanant and the answer was no because buisness is slow I don't beleive that one bit. anyway I have seen people get fired because one of the ladies made a complaint its insane, should I quit or wait it out which is a chance I wont win even if I tough it out?

I have a condo in Washington DC that I rent to other people. I want to get insurance for it without changing any of my other insurance. Are there any companies that will do that? GEICO wants to insure my primary residence, too, so they're out. Anyone else?
Thanks!

My daughter is 13 on christmas eve. If she had £1 put in a bank account for every week since she was born, how much would she now have, taking into account the varying rates of interest over the years?

How do i find out what the interest rates (for savings) would have been in 1993?

I am transferring $2500 from my checking account to a mutual fund account (Fidelity tax-free money market fund / fidelity floating rate high income fund), since mutual fund at least gives me interest while checking account does not. But is this a smart move? Which form (checking vs. mutual fund) will allow me to pay less tax?

Could you tell me if my assumption below is correct:
(a) Checking account: More money in my checking account WILL NOT make me pay more tax, since income tax has already been deducted from my paychecks.
(b) Mutual fund: More money in my mutual fund account WILL NOT make me pay more tax. However, I will be taxed on the profit that I make from my mutual fund account. For example if I made a 6% profit on my mutual fund. The government will tax me 25% from the 6% that I made as income tax. (How about if I loss money? Will I get more tax refund?)

My mother in law recently told me that she has my husbands name and her husbands name on her bank account. When i asked her why,she told me it was in case she died.I asked her why she didn't have her other sons name on the account to and she said it didn't matter if his name was on there or not because he is still going to get half no matter what.My question is,is she telling the truth or could there be another reason why she would have my husbands name on her bank account? Also can she gain access to our bank account because of it?
