I have a friend who tells me I should avoid mentioning my job as a nanny if I want to be attractive to men, because men dislike nannies. (Women possibly dislike nannies, too, but my friend is concerned with men here.) I have also noticed that, sometimes, when I tell people I am a nanny (because they ask me what I do), they assume that I must also be in school or have plans to do something different. Actually, I make nearly three times the minimum wage and the job is fairly fun. I am also doing no ethical harm in my job. Why would I be more likely to be in school or making plans for a different career than anyone else?

What do you think? Do you hate nannies? If so, is it because we are not wealthy, for for some other reason?

me and boyfriend are thinking of buying our first house, its a nice house but i have a few concerns. Its in the downtown area in a nice neighborhood for the most part BUT its also a couple blocks away from a bad area with alot of crime. Also in that particular area, the city has a plans to redo it and make it nice, but that could be 5 years or so. Anyways what do you think? Buy it or pass?

Due to recent job loss, I am having to move out of state and I am unable to take my household items/furniture/barbie collection/TV's and other items with me. I want to get the best value I can for my items and I am faced with either having a huge moving sale or having an auction service take everything. Since this is the weekend before Christmas and I live in Northern Michigan, I don't know how a moving sale would work and since I live in an apartment, I would have to open my home up for everyone to pick through. I am planning on leaving in one week, and I don't know what I should do. One auction place offered me a buyout for $900 for everything, but that's almost giving my stuff away. The other auction place will pick up everything and hold an estate sale in January, and after thier 30% cut, I get the rest, and they do have a good reputation according to the Better Business Bureau. I feel I would get a better value, but I hate leaving my stuff behind. Any advice??

Hello. Once upon a time I was a website and database developer and have changed careers. I now work in healthcare.

I am doing a research project that requires my skills as a database developer and I am doing it for FREE. Is there anyway I could write off the hours I spend on this project to save money on taxes?

It is non-profit medical research carried out at state facilities.

Thank you

I was engaged and had given my fiance my credit card for emergencies and a cellphone in my name ( I know stupid but I really thought we were to be wed) a few days before wedding he changed his mind and moved out and acknowledges the bills are his and says he will pay but doesn't...if I took him to small claims court what is chances I'd win? I have proof of intent to marry w/marriage licence and also people who heard him say he'd pay me back. Total its $1250 and it's in the State of Florida.

Thank you for any advice or answers!
