I am a Junior in University in New York majoring in Chemistry and going for my ACS certification. My family and advisors are continually asking me what I want to do with my life when I graduate. At first I thought I wanted to do Forensics. Then the possibility of Cosmetic Chemist piqued my interest. I know there are many jobs, but I need MORE information and guidance. Can anyone give me a website or two to help me on my search for careers after I graduate with my BS from University? Or information on how the job market is looking these days for Chemists? Is there a high demand for them? How about in another two-three years? In New York? Is there more demand in other States around the country? How much is beginning annual pay? How much schooling do they look for? Is a BS with ACS cert enough? Should I continue on to get my MS or PHD? How long will this take? Should I work in the mean time?

I'm only 21 but I KNOW this is what i want to do with my life!! I just need a little HELP! =)

I work for a company that invests in capital items with long life....30 years, 50 years etc. What are the pros and cons of using debt to finance part of these capital purchases vs. cash (raising rates)? I know one reason is that current customers should not have to pay for equipment that could outlive them. But is there an actual financial "savings" or economics reason to borrow rather than pay cash.

I have been swing trading in the stock market for the past year and a half. Is this going to hurt my chances of finding a job? Should I put this on my resume, explain it in my cover letter or just wait until the interview?

Thanks for your advice.

What is your opinion of deaf people trying to gain employment?

Some of them are studying for degrees at college and university to boost their chances of gaining employment.

So should they be given the opportunity of a career or should they stay in a dead end job?

There is a purpose to this question.

I've been divorced for a few years now and have never even attempted to learn or know what is on my credit. I do know that I've never owned a credit card and have no desire to. And I have had a few medical collections that I wasn't able to pay on time. (Even though I was making payments.) Other than that my exhusband was in charge of our finances and I'm not certain what could be on my credit. Today I purchased a cell phone and plan (all on my own... :) I'm very proud) and they told me there was no deposit required and that my credit score came back as "Class C". Can someone please explain to me what that means? I appreciate your time and kindness. Thanks!

My son and his friend is starting a small business. I am going to try to the books for them until they get on their feet. I have Microsoft 2003, but I am wondering if there is a business program out there that you do not have to use several programs to keep contacts, moneis paid, outgoing, ets. I have heard there are such programs that have tutorials and help coach you. I have kept the books before but not for a long time.
Thank you for all your help.

I've been asked to write a business plan on a fee-for-services consulting basis. What's the going rate for this kind of work? I estimate that it will take about a month to complete the work. I have an MBA and over 10 years of experience starting new businesses, but I've never done this work on a fee for services basis. I'm trying to figure out how much to charge for my services.

I am 24 years old and I am 3 years into my career as a Network Admin. I have spotless credit and have a small but good amount of money saved up.

What I am interested in is a 3 flat building. Can someone please tell me if I am spinning my wheels with this idea? Is it way more work than it is worth? What are some hidden start up costs? Is it so much work that I would have to quit my current job?

I am very interested in real estate and think this might be a good way to start. I really want to make some money from it but I will also value the experience. Any suggestions or comments are welcome. Thank you in advance to everyone for your help!

At work today, my boss suggested we go out for a Thai meal in town. He said he's 'always wanted to get to know me' and that 'he wants to spoil me'. He is married, I am a straight man.

My 'boss' (I'm not really being paid) is horrible. She steals my ideas, puts me down, ignores me when I have a problem then gets mad at me when I can't fix the problem.

For example: yesterday she couldn't find a garment (for costuming) she was looking for (as always, it is so unorganized) and I suggested we separate them into used and unused piles to make it easier. She picked one thing up, dropped it on the floor, picked up another dropped it on the floor and continued untill she found what she was looking for. Then she stepped on top of the pile of clothes and walked away to get it fitted for someone.

How does one deal with such a boss without snapping and punching said boss? I'm about ready to. My theatre arts teacher won't let me quit because I know what I am doing. Heck, I write essays on costuming in my spare time for fun! Luckily our first performance is tonight and everything is almost over!

My husband and I are into our second year of Chapter 13 bankruptcy. It's been hard for us but we are managing. Not having to worry about foreclosure and bill collectors is such a relief. Of course, if we want to purchase anything, we have to save for it. I would just like to chat with folks who have been through this.

Is it a good practice to refinance a car or truck. I recently purchased a home and the payment is somewhat large. I was in need of transportation before I purchased the home. I was thinking It would hinder the mortgage process if I bought a new vehicle before the house. I want to know is it worth refinancing the auto to make my money and budget work out. I did not buy this auto just to be buying, I bought it because of need and the condition of my 92 van is horrible. There is no heat and many other things.
Any advice is appreciated.

I maintain that there may even be a Federal Law forbidding sales tax on staple foods like milk, eggs, bread and such. Some one told me that it varies state to state. I think they are wrong.
