I have a friend who was deliquent on her school loan for years. Her $14,000 loan ballooned to $50,000. A couple of years ago she inherited some money from her mom around $220,000. For some reason she's can't get a job. Shouldn't she pay this full amount off instead of paying all the interest in it. She wants to buy a house eventually.

Even if the debtor has no assets, is unemployed, and the account is over six years old. Why would a bill collector agree to waive interest fees, and accept payments this low for 12 years? Or is it possible they're up to something and just trying to get the debtor to make a payment before the SOL runs out?

Okay-Please no rude answers as you dont know the whole story of how this happened-Im 20 yrs old i ended up getting into about $13,000 dollars of credit card debt (after an emergency medical surgery) and also that is after like $2000 of interest. I wasnt able to pay on the bills and cant make the minimum payments. I have been out of the house for almost 2 years and one creditor is saying that they will get my parents in trouble they even call thier house.....but i dont understand how they can......the only thing they co-signed for is my car loan. And it is current...never late...so how can they getmoney from my parents when i dont live with them and financially other than my car(which im turning over to them and taking my name off of it) how could they get in trouble???
Thank you for those that are helpful!

If you have been sent a letter from a collection agency NEVER speak to these bottom feeders. ALWAYS keep everything in writing. When they contact you by phone tell them to contact in writing then hang up. When they contact you in writing, then stand up for your rights...and WE have rights under the law that these scum bags don't want you to know about. The FCRA Fair Credit Report Act is to protect us from these wolves. Learn how to fight these scums by going to whchat.com or creditboards.com. You need to know the law because collection agencies are looking out for themselves not YOU. They are liars and they will tell you anything to get money from you. Know the SOL in your State...on most credit card debt it's 4 years...that means your State protects you from being sued. Also you can sue Collection companies...it happens everyday.

Did you know this?

Do they really call their other branch, and check it out?? Do they keep these kinds of records? Where do they keep them? What would prevent them from re-hiring you?

You sign these contracts for them to be your realtor. Then they fall asleep and barely lift a finger to help you sell your property. Can I just say, "You're fired!" and go about finding someone new?
Or do I have to do it a certain way without getting sued myself.

Hello. I am 34 years old and I am in need of a way to switch careers. My old line of work, financial research, I thought was something I was interested in post-college. The reality of that type of job was much diffferent from my perception of it though.

To make a long story short, I realized in about 1998 that I really didn't like that type of work that much and it wasn't going to change for the better. But I stuck with it and quit and got re hired about 4 times since then because I would get to the point where I couldn't stand it anymore, literally quit without anywhere to go, and end up having to get rehired to do the same thing and give it another chance because I couldn't switch careers. I guess it speaks well for me that I was able to get rehired after quitting so many times but now my resume has more holes than swiss cheese.

To make matters worse I left my last research job in 2002 and have only had a few interviews since then. I do not know what to do, please help!

1. How do your organise your work?
2. How do you keep up-to-date with the latest technologies?
3. Do you treat everybody the same?
4. How do you ensure you meet customers needs?

Would also appreciate if you have the answers to any other typical questions asked in interviews.
