I used to go with my parents to the bank to get it cashed. They sign it and I sign it on the back too.
I'm not sure it has to be a parent, maybe it can be anyone with a bank account.

The best way is to open a checking account somewhere. Many banks will open checking accounts for minors as long as the minor is old enough to work. Some require a parent/guardian's signature, but will allow you to have the account in your name alone.

Many banks offer free checking for young people and students as a way of developing customers. Also, getting a start on having a checking account now will help you learn the process for the future.

I suggest you call a few local banks or check out their websites and see what they offer. Otherwise you will find check cashing difficult. Some grocery stores and retailers will cash checks if you apply for a check cashing card or show ID, and some banks will cash checks for non-customers if you have a photo ID, but they all charge fees or require purchases.

If you go to the bank where it is written, you may only need a photo ID, such as a drivers license. If you are too young to drive and are in school, you may be able to use your student ID. Some banks refuse to cash checks unless you have an account with them. If that is the case, you may be able to go with a friend or relative to their bank and cash it. Some grocery stores will cash your check. You didn't mention what type of business you work, but they may also be able to cash it for you, if it is a retail store. The best thing would be to open a checking or savings account with a bank or credit union. It would be preferable to have a savings account and make contributions to it out of every paycheck. You will be surprised at how quickly it will grow.

Many banks won't cash a check for you unless you have an account with them. However, if you don't need a checking account for yourself, you can take the check to the issuing bank (where your employer has their payroll account) and they should be willing to cash it for you provided you have proper ID.
